when will missile defence work?

Any news on when turrets assigned to defend against missiles will actually do that, instead of idling away?

What I would like to see is a return of custom turret configuration. For example configure a turret so that its first priority is missiles, but if there are no missoles to shoot then attack fighters, then capitals, then stations etc.

I've seen my turrets do it, but they are not easy to take down. None of the vanilla ships really have the concentration of firepower to do it very well. With the Battleships in Rise of the Ossian Raider, where I have banks of 6 or 8 M turrets with pulse they can actually be effective in at least cutting down the missiles that make contact. Like the poster above mentions though it sucks to have to switch modes manually and it means I often have them in the wrong mode in the next encounter.
