Playable... kind of (things like late game perfomance issues, wonkiness of the war system or nightmarish crew micromanagement aside, at least), but technically it was "playable" since day one. It was just... well, bad. Still definitely worth waiting for 3.0/first expansion though, imo, as things haven't changed *that* much: some bug fixing and some streamlining here and there, but the underlying design issues are still more or less the same. That expansion will be the moment of truth, to see if we can expect the game to ever reach its potential, or if it's a lost cause.

Yes, the game is "just" playable

The abandoned ship spam bug is gone, now we have the station spam bug, which is performance breaking. Us in the beta reported these issues and provided saves but they let it go live anyway. STOP RELEASING NEW BUGS.

The game is playable, but if you're not a hardcore fan then I advice to wait for the 3.0 + Expansion.

If you played it before I would suggest waiting for the expansion. However if not then it is a good time to play.
