Hey all,
So, I've earned a variety of mod this game, as well as various paint jobs over my prior several game starts. However, NONE of them are showing in my new game. I recall in the past that I had to go online to "activate" these and was wondering if this is still the case, and how it's supposed to work.
To be clear, I have zero interest in Ventures other than my initial testing of them. After being utterly swamped with hundred of venture ships that wouldn't go away, I've disabled the feature. As a result, I didn't think I had any need to play the game while online but of course noticed no mods or paint jobs have unlocked this game.
Just wanted some feedback on this, is this what other experience, or is it some sort of bug?
Oh, one more thing...why is the game constantly forgetting my entered credentials?
Edit: going online did appear to activate my paint jobs, not tested mods yet. Are what we've earnt not stored locally then?
Cheers,
Scoob.

Mod parts aren't stored in the account, they're tied to the save. So, paint jobs you can use in any game, but mod parts only in that specific game that you've got them in.

I`m afraid it`s STILL the case. I got some skins as part of buying their Deluxe` edition in November, started a New game a few days ago and to my surprise found I still had to go Online to get the extra skins. Thankfully the number of skins reset themselves so I had max. I think once you put it on a ship it stays, but play Offline again and no more skins are available. This is on GOG.
I guess it`s some kind of small DRM? Really hate that kind of thing. Also they kept it quiet on release until you bought the game.
However it`s better than Elite`s pay them max cash to buy yet you still have to be online 24\7 in Solo mode while they try to nickel/dime more crap to you. I walked to X4.

1. Please do more on NPC civilian/uniform variety, and bio customisations, Devs.
2. Stations need sirens/warnings when enemy is close in numbers or Station in danger of destruction (in Sandbox).
Yes, for immersion. Thankyou ahead of time. (Edit: This is actually happening!!!)

Perhaps GOG is different, but on Steam, once you start a new game while online, the Obsidian and Foundation X skins are subsequently available whether you're online or not. Just tested it with Steam. You only need to be online to start a new game, not play it.Socratatus wrote: ↑Wed, 5. Jun 19, 12:30... Yes, with GoG you have to sign in to your account through the game before any skins are available. Seems an odd way to go about things if earnt Skins aren't tied to the account somehow.
