I think plasma cannon/turrets could be improved upon in the vanilla game.

1. The projectiles are way too slow. I think, at minimum, their speed should be around 1000 m/s, more than double the current speed. The slow speed contributes to a lot of inaccuracy, especially at range against capitals.
2. The rate of fire is too high, maybe halves the rate of fire, and double the damage per shot. They should be slow fire, but extremely high damage weapons
3. Range should be increased, maybe by 1.5 times
4. Projectile graphics is lackluster. They are white blobs, very uninspiring. As is the impact animations, not very good looking.

The other weapon projectiles in the game are okay, could use a little more color maybe.

Finally a question, in the encyclopedia, is damage output for weapons in terms of damage per second, or damage per shot?

They are meant to be very inaccurate due to how much damage they deal. The problem is that prediction aiming does not factor in ship rotation and movement of your ship or ship rotation of the target ship.

They are already the longest range turret.

Capitals just need the ability to apply weapon mods to turrets. Unfortunately there is no plan to support such feature even if a bank only contains 1 turret.

Last I recall it was in damage per shot but with incorrect units to make it confusing. Damage per shot should be listed in joules because it is energy and not power. Damage per second is power.

I'm in for more bullet speed, not 100% but 25-50%. This would add that little extra accuracy and range. But mostly they could use a graphics update, they are boring. Nothing wrong with the damage as of now, maybe yes slow the rate of fire down and bigger bullet damage but that's it.

I just wish they bring back the bigass HIVI/MA from X:R for stations, so magnificent.

Other than point 3 I agree on all points, especially on bullet speed and fire rate.

As it is now plasma weapons are awkward pew pew pew.

Edit: I mean turrets. Fighter cannons are OK as they are now.
