An Idea for ventures - INVASIONS!

Here is an Idea how about using venture for invasions?

- Ventures allowing you to send in fleets based on a power level with a power level Cap obviously.
- The invasion force will have a power gauge so players can choose in options between what power level they want invading them eg: 100-1000, 1000-5000, 5000-10000 etc.
- An option on how many invasions they want at any given time.

1. A Red area appears on the map and when you enter it, it tells you how many ships will invade and you can accept or decline the invasion force.
2. If you enable ventures online, the invasion forces can appear anywhere from the edge of a map at any given time. with or without warnings as an option. And maybe multiple invasions can occur.

And offcourse somekind of reward for defeating the invasion based on the power of the fleet.
And a reward for the invader offcourse if he succeeds.

And perhaps chuck in some steam achievements for succeeding an invasion and defeating invasions.

I'd welcome it - NPC factions provide no challenge at this moment.

If there was a friend system in order to send fleets to a specific and not some random unrelated person, sure.

Please, don't feed the ducks.

An almost stupid feature as ventures, which has taken precious time for more serious issues away from to the developers, should not be encouraged in my opinion, not at this moment.
Do not misunderstand me, as a matter of fact I would like to see something like the feature proposed (or on the contrary a way of sending friendly help to other players), but I would also like to see these in a future release, where the game is fully playable.

So, please, don't feed the ducks.

Just like current venture system this would be optional (could be switched on/off), so I don't see any problem with it.

It was only one guy that was on ventures, and my personal opinion is its a total miss more so that in this state it cant work on modified games and thats a big NO NO for X games
maybe if they expand them to something like OP suggests but even then some mods I just refuse to play without as I think a lot of people are, maybe after 3 years of patches :gruebel: , but still cant go without music mod :mrgreen:
Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.

With this they could open up ventures for modified games, you just play with somebody with the same mods
I always hope this is the plan, but CBJ kind of killed that

I personally like the idea of such multiplayer interactions, but shamely not in the form of ventures :/

Something unexplainable feels off for me about it.

There are mods that allow you to use ventures... Not online, true, but you can use the main mechanism anyway. The minute I decide to mod my game, this will be installed.

Ventures are a good addition IMO, but I agree with Techedge there are more pressing matters to fix right now.
I'm glad we finally have a few more missions, and I would like to see even more veriety, and more venture docks as well. But I would rather they keep this to quick fixes and simple improvements for now.


That's just an opinion, of course. I fully trust ES with their own roadmaps for future patches, and I'll happily take any improvements or novelties that comes our way, no matter on what.

Get the game working first, ( Ventures are just pot luck ) and to be honest it would be better to be able to find this venture stuff in your own game. Not send a ship off to who knows where, and come back with who knows what! Put the rewards out in our own game sectors to find, not pot luck may be you might effectively be given stufffffff.

I would personally play an unmodded game if the venture system was like this. The current venture system is not worth playing an unmodded game.
