Whys is this still an issue?
I was really hoping this would be addressed with 2.50 but it hasn't. This is by far the biggest problem with the game for me but keeps being ignored by the devs. I have pirates harassing my trade ships, but when I go to attack the pirates, I always lose reputation with the wrong faction. I almost exclusively lose reputation with MIN even though the pirates I attack are NOT Ministry pirates.
Essentially my trade ships are being harassed with impunity since I am already at -5 rep with MIN and I don't want to make it worse by decreasing it further. I have never attacked or made any hostile action against MIN, only killed pirates attacking my trade ships. That is how I am at -5.
Honestly if the 3.00 update does nothing else but fix this problem, I would be happy. What is most frustrating is that there has been no feedback or acknowledgment from devs about this issue despite people on forums commenting on it since launch. Please fix this immediately.

did you try scanning the ship before attacking?
Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.

What if you don't have a police license for the sector yet? And what if you do have a license but you get hit with the bug where the ship doesn't change it's tag after being scanned? And what about when the attack comes from an escort assigned to the trade ship and you are out of sector? How do you scan it then? This shouldn't be happening at all. Just because it's part of some mostly broken game play element doesn't mean doesn't mean it's a good idea to leave it in.

That a lot theoretical hypothesizing has this actually happened yet? Also where did he mention leaving the feature in that's literally what your supposed to do for pirate ships.Kernel Panic wrote: ↑Wed, 29. Try this either cut out MIN as a trading partner in global orders or set all civilian ships to run away when they detect pirates also you can set it so that they run away if they detect any enemies in general that way they stay in safe zones.nubular wrote: ↑Tue, 28. Okay then why getting huffy with him then if he didn't make that argument isn't that kinda of a strawman argument then.Kernel Panic wrote: ↑Wed, 29. May 19, 01:441.) hehehe I knew that question was gonna raise some eyebrows
scan ships is super tedious and impossible using just a controller and as OP wrote above broken
the only thing I could do is install a mod remove encounters and forget about that so far stupid feature
