Starting over as Argon and like some informason :)

Post by Staur106 »

Hello, i was starting fresh as argon, and i have bin wondering should i go fast to large miners and Traders or just take it slowly, just wondering if it is worth it buying them right away, or should i just watch out for the Exomeny just a Thought on how others work on those things :) And scanning stations for blueprints i just find kinda boring now a days so i will need faster money to buy them and such, i can farm Crystals for hours i like that part of the game, but i'm just wondering about miners and Traders, i have mostly gone for like 10 miners before i think about large one, anyways what do you Guys recomand for most fun and stable income, and for the mod players i do not like mods i find it ruin the gameplay for me :)

L traders have 4-5x the capacity of M traders, but can't use highways. (They are also much more expensive, but much less vulnerable.)
This means they will reap tons of profits on good trades on short routes, but much less on longer trade routes where the faster M traders will shine.
And usually the best trades are long-range. This does not mean you won't get a good short-range trade once in a while, but it's not as frequent.

For me, the biggest advantage for using L traders is quality of life: It's much less click-extensive to ferry around large quantities of wares.
So I mostly use M traders for profit generation, and keep L traders to move around building material for stations or for moving bulks of material. (For example if I need to move 4-5k wafers to kickstart a new station's producion.)

As for getting a quick buck at the beginning of the game, crystal farming is a way. Here are a few others:
Spoiler
Show
-Nividium farming, until the trade station saturates. They don't use the ware, so they just fill up until they stop asking. You're good for a few profitable hours, though. If you find a good Niv spot close to a trade station, a L-miner can be pretty good.
-Keep an eye on illegal ware trades: Spacefuel, Spaceweed and Maja dust. Supply and demand will change on each playthrough but usually one or two of them will turn out to be very profitable. Getting spacefuel from Nopileo or second contact and selling to the paranid can fetch me 400-500k per run with an M trader. You just have to wait for the selling prices to drop enough.
-Station construction mission are usually very lucrative, and they don't take that long to do if you have enough traders to supply the wares yourself. You will of course need a few blueprints before you start that, but the reward should cover the investment well enough.
Humans are deuterostomes, which means that when they develop in the womb the first opening they develop is the anus.
This means that at one point you were nothing but an asshole.

Some people never develop beyond this stage.

Only S and M ships can use them. L/XL ships stick to travel drives.

With 4x M class miners I had to allow NPC trades on minerals to keep the supply levels constant on 1 station
So I sold them and bought 1 L class miner and I was able to disable NPC trades at that station

Now the only S/M class ships I have are the escorts in my 3 defence fleets

You don't have to stop mining nividium. Just hack it back out into space once the trade stations are full. Hacking is probably the most under utilized function in the game. Turn off the production of your competitors, disable turrets on a station before attacking it, etc.
