2.5 Update: Features and bug fixes

I never play beta updates and I am curious as to what content and bug fixes 2.5 will contain.

I am hoping that resupply vessels are included but my game is totally stagnant. It would be nice if a couple of dormant gates were to be activated. Or at the least xenon reinforcements arrive. The pirates in my game are completely useless. We should have pirate clans attacking shipping routes or stations. Anything to spice up my game before I loose interest.

Can anyone playing the 2.5 beta please comment on how the update affected their game. It would be very much appreciated. :D

You don't have to play the Beta in order to see what it contains, or how people are getting on with it. The release notes are here and the rest of that forum contains people's feedback on it.

That list is impressive for 2.5... I hope it is.
1. Please do more on NPC civilian/uniform variety, and bio customisations, Devs.
2. Stations need sirens/warnings when enemy is close in numbers or Station in danger of destruction (in Sandbox).

Just read the 2.5 list, Theres a lot wrong with this game that the 2.5 needs those things done. Wow. But good that ES are addressing the things they really shouldn't have let slip in the first release.

Good on you ES for licking your wounds.

dont know the numbers but kind of doubt it they sold as many as NMS on release, important detail
Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.

Do you have the facts for that?

NMS sold enough to keep going and keep giving with no pay-for DLCs or microtransactions at all in those 2 years. Logic dictates they had to have gained enough money from the Marketing hype to do that- and I`ll bet it`s a LOT more than X4 got as X4 didn`t have anything like the Marketing hype NMS had.

Also worth mentioning the number of refunds Valve had to endure during the NMS release.

NMS was hyped and sold on several platforms not just Steam. Consolers get taken advantage most of all where refunds are concerned as it is very difficult to nigh impossible for them to get one once they`ve tried the game. Ok, so i`m specualting here, but I believe that HelloGames still made a ton of cash from hyping NMS on release even though they basically lied to get the cash, enough cash to be able to continue working on NMS for 2 years with no need to ask for more cash.

The only reason why I have some respect for NMS is that they did not run away with the cash and in fact have worked extremely hard to make NMS what they hyped it up to be without asking a single extra penny in 2 whole years. they have done for more than i would have guessed. (This is quite unusual for games companies today).

Point is they had to have made profit-money from their pre-release hype, enough that even Steam refunds had next to no effect on their main gains.

However, NMS`s goodwill turn-a-round doesn`t mean I will trust them or any software company that tries that tactic again in the future, because I won`t.
