Crane Mineral Sentinel won't auto mine

Like the Title says, latest build ship captain with high enough star rating. I recently purchased two Crane sentinels and sent them off to automine, but after checking back they keep just looking at targets(From the mini-map) and then switching targets but never mining. My Magnetar L mines just fine. I saved the game and tried to reload it but still no go, same behavior. Any suggestions? At this point I was thinking about selling them and buying more Magnetars because the one I have now, works fine.

Did you perhaps forget to give it mining drones....I have done this and spent hours trying to figure it out until I realized L size miners need mining drones. Not the case with M size miners.

I did not give it mining drones, lol maybe that is the problem. So it needs mining drone and it needs mining lasers as well? I will try that.

I think it sends them out to collect the rocks it shoots off. NPC miners don't seem to have the loot vacuum button that the player can use.

I'd also put 2 cargo drones in the loadout
just incase it tries to sell somewhere that hasn't assembled it's own cargo drones yet

2-3 mining drones is enough, more does not make it mine faster.
