So I just had what I think would be a great Idea while I was just sitting at the trade station in "Hatickvas whatever" sector (always screw up its name). There is constant Zeno Incursions into their sector from the Zeno Sector above it.
So I thought, man that would be so cool if I could use some of those hacking tools I use on the stations on the Warp Gate there to Block Zeno Incursions for say 2-5 hours like the hacking tools have now, just a few changes maybe to the length of time for working etc.
Possibility to Block Off Trade Competitors in other sectors for a set time by Hacking Their Warp Gates (2-5 hours etc). As the game uses the Highway system I know you can move around joining sectors and they push you through some jump gates so there is a lot to think about..
I know, I know, I know... It would be a big endeavor as it would screw up trade, flight scripts and many others... but I thought it was a cool idea!
Curious what others think about having the ability to hack Warp Gates to shut them down for a period of time (Set time or a Random amount of time between a set limit, like 2-5 hours etc.).
Whats your thoughts?
Edit: I remember reading something about Zenos possible just warping into places after they have been built at shipyards. I don't really remember though as I've had to read so much to try and keep up with whats changed in the game from its release until now. So someone else who has up to date Knowledge on how Enemy Ships move around the universe and are spawned can let me know how things are now, that would be great!
I am using Version 2.5 Beta 4.
I gave up playing after 1.5 or 1.6 and just came back since 2.5 Beta 3 (Alot of things have been fixed, improved so I thought I'd give it another go as I saw the awesome potential of this game). I must say that the game is in a lot better shape now and I am truly enjoying a lot of what this game has to offer! I look forward to many more improvements and additions to the game!

Re: Add "Warp Gate Hacking" Whats your Opinion?
According to concept arts of X4, the reintroduction of the Xenon Hub was considered at some point. While it cannot block sectors from connecting to each other indirectly (well, according to its original concept anyway) there's indeed a potential in it that would be somewhat similar to your idea.
There's a flaw with your original idea however: the "outer rim" of the current X universe is not connected with the other "wings". Meaning that if you, for instance, disable a gate beyond the core systems (the ones that extends outward from the ring highway systems), you would block them away from the rest of the universe for good - there would be no entering and exiting that part of the universe. It's all fun and games until you find yourself (or your assets) stuck there.
Also, once the blockade (blockage?) is lifted, imagine the Xenon pouring back into Hatikvah's Whatever en masse. You would only give them time to prepare instead of breaking their means of production (for they only need ore and energy cells to reproduce).
