V 2.21 on steam, english

No clue what the start is anymore... it's been 160+ hours.
I realized only a short time back that the AI could actually buy ships from my wharf, so I started picking up designs for them to actually do so. However, while some of them work, I also get a lot of orders that just say "Unknown Ship" or a valid model that simply won't start production, but has a very short timer. Supplies aren't an issue, it's a very large station producing everything I need with nearly full stockpiles. Some sales still happen, usually one Paranid faction or another, but most of the time I just get 3 build slots full of "Unknown Ship." Any thoughts?

If the slots don't start it's because the ships can't build. Normally this is because of insufficient resources. Keep in mind that the AI can order equipment that you don't have blueprints for, which is usually fine but can be problematic if you have no blueprints of that type at all because your station won't stock the resources. For example, if you have no missile blueprints, your station won't stock Missile Components, but the AI will still order ships with missiles and they will never build.
Unfortunately, 2.21 made changes to how shipyards process builds that make it impossible to determine why AI ships won't build, so you just have to guess and see if it goes away. I'd start by comparing the resource list in AI shipyards with the stock you have to make sure nothing is missing.
