[Suggestion] Confirm hotkey rebinding

Post by user1679 »

I would like to suggest some sort of indication when a hotkey combination is already in use and the player attempts to reassign it.

When rebinding hotkeys, the game does not alert you if you're assigning a combination already used. Instead, it just
assigns the new key and removes it from the previous function. Some possible solutions:

A dialog confirming reassignment

When the player attempts to rebind a hotkey that is already used, a dialog pops up indicating the conflict. For example,
if you want to bind the key M to the function "External View", a dialog should appear saying:

M is currently bound to: Map, continue?

Color the conflicting hotkeys red and ask when player attempts to leave the config

Using the example from the previous option, in this case the cmmand "External View" and "Map" would both
be colored RED. When the player clicks the back arrow or ESC to close the config menu, a dialog would appear:

You have conflicting hotkey assignments. Click OK to rebind to new settings or CANCEL to return to hotkeys
