Best way to check on ships in a building queue?

Post by Skeeter »

Hi all.

So im on 2.20, a new game did crystal mining then bought a teladi fighter in eighteen billion, yep needs eng parts about 500+. So i wait. When i loaded my save the station was busy as a bee, but after 15 mins waiting around its dead as a door knob. Wonder why..

Anhow, i figured ok ppl say go buy the things urself so i went all the way to a eng part factory and when i get there i discover i can only buy 5 units of em.   So im heading back. Grr, bernd said when i asked, can small ships do trading as in have large cargo space so no need for big ships to a certain point. Cant be sure but im thinking in x2 a m3 could probs carry more than 5 poxy eng parts if those were in x2. lol. I expected i could have at least got 500 in a small ship but noooo.

Anyhow to the point. What way can i check on progress of the ship being built, like queue status, has it started, whens it due to be finished. As that info is hard to find, i can only find by clicking on the station that theres a green line saying the ship and that its ++2.25 or something like that, and thats crap info. I need some way to check on progress easily without going through menus all the time on the map. I want my old properties window from x2 etc back, r wasnt it the key.

Why isnt this in some sort of property owned list or something.

Getting a bit sick of this cant buy ships crap. Now if i wana transfer eng parts for that ship i need a cargo ship to get the eng parts, i can probs afford to pay for one but whats the point if it wouldnt ever get built.

Go to the ALI wharf in trinity sanctum. Their wharf starts out well stocked and they don't build ships unless the player orders them. You can even get the best equipment combos for your trade ships this way. Paranid transporters with argon travel engines and teladi shields.

Best is open for debate in this case. Some might argue that Combat Engines make better traders since they accelerate faster and are more pirate resistant due to instant travel mode activation. Additionally the loss in speed has different values depending on average operating conditions, with it having little value if the ship mostly uses the main highway loop and a lot of value in places like around Grand Exchange which require flying huge distances. Even the type of transport ship can be debated since Teladi ones hold more so can be better for manual trades (less micro needed).
