what if: switching to Xenon with your stations in their sectors - will they use them?

Post by Browser_ice »

Just a thought.

What would happen between your stations and Xenon population if :
1) get your reputation UP with 1-2 factions up to being able to build shipyards/warfs
2) you change your reputation for friendly with Xenon
3) you build a bunch of stations in their sector so that you would have a full economy there
4) build a shipyard and a warf in their sector
5) (optionally) you change your reputation with everyone else, except Xenon, to be their enemy (so they don't come to your stations to buy and get killed in the process)

How much of your economy would Xenon use?

Would fighting between Xenon and others increase because they now would have additional means of building ships?

I always wanted to play that kind of scenario since X3. To be on the other side of the mirror ...

As far as I can tell, they need ... ore. That's it.

And I'm pretty sure their miners are the ones building the defense stations wherever they please. Doesn't matter how much I try to blockade them ... still they persist.

But wouldn't it far more interesting if they had stations to gather resources and build intermediate products so they could then build whatever ships they need?

You could go in, cripple some of their stations to affect their economy and therefore slowing down their construction of ships. Or you could pitch in to help them ...

It makes no sense that a Xenon shipyard only needs Ore to build an entire ship with its turrets, shields and the rest. Serious lack of resources to do this. Unless they use magic?

All I am saying is that it makes no sense how the Xenon economy is built and that leaves out interesting scenarios and quests. I really wish enemies were more realistically conceived in this game.

A higly advanced AI, they need ore, silicon and energy cells
They dont need any cockpits or room for people so building ships only from raw materials is not that far fetched

There economy is dependent of miners and the AI is not that smart at keeping them in the sector or the closest one, and they use them to build defense stations
So if they loose all there miners trying to build a defense station and there is no materials in shipyards GAME OVER for xenon
I don't think that miners even have a priority in build queue yet they are the most important thing
Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.

The Xenon would buy Energy Cells from you. That is all I can imagine them doing since the rest they mine themselves. Your shipyard and warfs cannot build ships for them since you lack the required blueprints. Additionally it is not possible or intended that the player ever becomes friendly with the Xenon, hence anything can happen as you are entering the realm of unspecified modified game behaviour.
