Whats a good XML editor for X2 scripting?

Post by gtfouts »

I am just a backyard newbie scripter. I don't know much of anything or how to do anything for that matter. I was just wondering what is a good freeware XML editor to get (besides Petes) for practicing and learning scripting in X2?

Problably the best one to use would be the one built into X2.

If you try to use anything else, chances are that it won't work.

I didn't know I could use the editor without being in the game...I must look into this now a bit deeper and see how to start it.

So...is there a trick to starting this or did I misunderstand the Commander and you do have to be ingame?

Just place the above file x2script.xsl in the folder where you want to read your file.

Then your IExplorer will read it. To edit, save it as a txt file and rename afterwards to xml or what it was.

You do not have to be "in game" to do this

Cheers
