LOL!
Yeah, I've ended up "out there" a couple of times but not quite that far!
Good luck and take care,

Re: Far, far away.
Sadly I didn't screen it .. I know I should have for it's epicness
.
I was suiting to repair a ship as it passed through a gate, so I got dragged through too.
~250,000km away from anything ..
And no TP research completed
Pressed M to see where I was
had to zoom out the max to get the sectors visible as they were so far away
If it happens again, I'm so doing a selfie in F2 mode

I set up some trade routes, bacause food shortage mission and stand behind my pilot. Marauder attack us, my pilot shoot him down and right after message from local authority about payment, my char start falling trough ship to open space, then teloprt back to ship and fall down again and again.radcapricorn wrote: ↑Mon, 25. Mar 19, 02:48Did it happen after you went through a gate/accelerator/anomaly, or did the game just randomly teleport your ship to that remote location?

Re: Far, far away.
Was that in Holy Vision?
I had a very similar experience (falling through own ship when changing into Suit, then being 'transferred' zillions of kms away from sector core).
Actually I see a thread in the German section where a Miner went app. 5000km into the far South of - Holy Vision (!) to mine some asteroids.
In my case I teletransported back into one of my ships and let the initial Eclipse Vanguard fly back; but now the map of Holy Vision in my game is ridiculously didproportioned as there is a "blank path" from about -25'000/-10'000/35'000 (not real numbers but to give you an idea) to the center. This has the effect that every time I want to interact with any station of Holy Vision I have to manually zoom into the map. I think I need two full turns of the mousewheel to be able to distinguish the stations visually on the map and another quarter to be able to click on SY (and not anywhere else).
If my assumption is correct, I see reasons to think that Holy Vision might have a map-problem in general.
Edit: In my case it was similar, CTRL-D brought me back into ship but I fell through my ship again and again until I gave up.

Re: Far, far away.
We're really keen to down these kinds of issues. If anyone has a way to reproduce it, particularly a savegame from shortly before it happens, then we would be most interested in seeing it. Unfortunately savegames from after it's happened don't help with this.

Re: Far, far away.
One reproducible case of similar scenario is already reported. However, there it is caused by gate traversal, and this one seems to be random teleport. A case of random jump seems to have also been identified.

Re: Far, far away.
There is something more to it because I ran into this also, did the teleport to docked ship move to stop the clipping through the the floor thing then I was also in Delta quadrant off the map. I reverted to a previous save and ran the same trade run again but this time it did not repeat. It was either Pious Mists or Unholy Retro.
All I can say is that when it occurred to me I was standing on the bridge but not in control of the ship. We went through a gate, then all the graphics started to flicker and I started falling through the floor repeatedly. I never ran into it prior to 2.20 but that may not mean much. The next trip through the gate was without incident. Going to be a fun one to track down I'm sure.
Bright Profit also inflated in size without this mechanic. At some point it just was enormous and the fog wasn't all the way to the edge of the hex. So sometimes the sectors just become giant on their own it seems.
