Losing rep taking too long

I've finally gotten all the blueprints in the game and have decided to help the PAR against the HOP. I have 30 rep with everyone at this point. I've destroyed several stations,destroyers,carriers, and all their miners which caused their economy to collapse. I have effectively killed the Hop as a faction but my rep with them is still over 20. I think rep should drop a little faster when commencing genocide on a faction, or perhaps we could have a declare war option to set a faction hostile if we wish.

It is worth noting that most of the reputation is around the 30 end. It takes 9 times as much reputation from 20 to 30 as it does to go from 0 to 20. Hence one can lose a lot of reputation at 30 and still be above 20.

I too have 30 with everyone other than SCA, HAT and the usuals but I think I have listened to the Teladi bitch enough about my killing SCA Marauders so rather than going to war with them I will just withdraw my fleet and dismantle my Defense Platforms that are keeping the Xenos at bay. Shouldn't be too long before the K & I hoard streams in and burns the Teladi scum to the ground.
