Suggestion Drone Landpads.

Post by abisha1980 »

I not sure why the devs choose S/M land pads for drones but they should use special designed Drone landpads so they are kind of useful.
now they just useless and take to much time to dock and undock etc.

so my suggestions.

nothing fancy but add to all L and some M ships small landing pads that are special for drones at least 2 per ship or Large ships at least 4.

I guess they wanted to make these launchpads as flashy as they can get. Thus a mass amount of drones disembarking from a ship might look cool, but in practicality it slows down the already tedious process.

t’s quite simple not to close the landing shaft when launching and docking. Then the drones will all be released and all docked at once.

That's not how it works. The docking crafts need to be in a docking state before they can be pulled into the inner bay.

In fact, drones are the same deployable objects as satellites, mines, laser towers, and so on. They do not need any undocking and docking procedures .. only the command to throw everything away and turn on and the command to disconnect and assemble.

Not to mention that the drones don't have pilots. If they had pilots it would make sense. There should definitely be separate drone launch bays and receiving bays.

how about give the player a option to retrofit a Docking pad to Drone Pad (4x4)
so that you can launch and done 4 drones at the time.
