Stored player ship
When you dock somewhere
get out the ship
and whilst your gone the ship gets placed in "storage"
apart from clearing all orders and then issuing a move/dock command
why isn't there a simpler way to get them back ??
why don't they 'unstore' when you approach the dock area ??

Re: Stored player ship
I believe if you press Shift D, it has the option to bring it out of internal storage.

Re: Stored player ship
On the Osprey I posses, a defence drone is stuck at the landing platform.
The Eclipse in the internal storage will not go up to the landing platform. (Nor by pressing shift-D).
I cannot sell the drones and unfortunately it doesn't launch by a threat.
After that I send them twice to venture mission, but the drone is still stuck.

Dock a fighter on it and the drone will return to internal storage.

Re: Stored player ship
I had this problem flying an Osprey, a drone would get stuck when returning to dock. I had to target the drone ( Target key or use mouse) then right click the drone and select withdraw from combat and it would move away. Hope it works for you.Onearth wrote: ↑Sat, 16. Thank you for the replies.
With the second fighter, the drones(3) were manually destroyed and the Eclipse reappeared.
Very nice

Re: Stored player ship
This is what I do. Although sometimes it don`t work (maybe cos docks are too busy). I hate teleporting so I wait.Wizzard~Of~Ozz wrote: ↑Thu, 14. Mar 19, 17:48 I believe if you press Shift D, it has the option to bring it out of internal storage.
Maybe it`s better now, but I have the game on hold.
1. Please do more on NPC civilian/uniform variety, and bio customisations, Devs.
2. Stations need sirens/warnings when enemy is close in numbers or Station in danger of destruction (in Sandbox).
Yes, for immersion. Thankyou ahead of time. (Edit: This is actually happening!!!)

I stumbled into that feature by accident, while standing in the Trader's Corner (or whatever). Sirens, and a wall coming up out of the floor. Very, very nicely done.Miniding wrote: ↑Sat, 16. Re: Stored player ship
Setting another fighter to dock didn’t work for me. What I ended up doing was right clicking the drone sitting on pad and sent to to be sold at a wharf. Immediately somehow that drone goes red and all my other drones launch and attack it. Smh

Re: Stored player ship
The relevant tutorial ("Platform Tutorial", I think?) actually has you return to your ship via Shift-D. While it doesn't explicitly mention stored ships (as far as I recall), I think that's supposed to be the lesson teaching you how to "reliably" return to your ship (and thus, covering this stored-ship scenario).

Re: Stored player ship
Unfortunately, there are cases where you can Shift-D all day and be unable to return to a given ship. The dock management in X4 v2.0 and prior is anything even close to perfect, and the drone AI in V2.0 is severely flawed.Vyrebird wrote: ↑Sun, 17. Re: Stored player ship
I don't use drones anymore since 1.5 I think... I prefer having my wing ships, eclipse VG, on my destroyer and send them to attack if needed... what I don't do as I still get no reward for defending allied stations if I'm not at the command of the killing ship... but when I want to...Roger L.S. The MAJ+D works like a charm in my configuration... I would like to be able to do so when plotting my destroyer though...

Re: Stored player ship
IME Regardless of drones, the Shift-D will not remove a ship from a surface dock and if all docks are populated/active for some reason then you are a bit up the creek.Miniding wrote: ↑Mon, 18. If you have internal launch tubes for the relevant ship size (e.g. S/M at some stations and S on some ships) then that will mitigate the issue somewhat but surface pad/dock management really needs work regardless.
