So what is the difference in functionality of the various storage types of a station (player owned)
There is a production storage (with produce from the station), there is a build storage (to build new components) and there is storage to wich you can order transports to dump their cargo.
Do station managed traders use all available wares to trade or just a selection of the storagetypes?
In short: Why do we have three storage types in player owned stations?

Re: [Q] storage types differences
Build Storage is only used for constructing or reparing a station.
there are three types of storage a station uses.
Container storage ---all wares and refined goods go into this
Liquid storage GAS miners use this to store collected gas
Solid storage this is for ORE Silicion and ICE storage,
Then you have your own Inventory ...stuff you collect for crafting ,crystal mining ship skins and ships mods and other collectables.

Also worth noting, mediums are not equal between storage types. An Arg/Tel Medium container is 150k m3, a Tel Medium Liquid is 500k m3. Can't recall the other ones, but those ones I'm pretty sure of.

Water is container storage, not liquid, made that mistake a few times.

Costs to build storage aren't linear either
2 Small storages cost more than 1 Medium and hold less
When you've got you're production storage built, the manager will spend a lot of money buying resources to fill it up.
