Enemy fighter stuck inside captured frigate
As the topic title says, I captured a HOP Gorgon and it had a fighter docked inside. It's still there and shows as HOP Theseus. Any ideas on how to get rid of it/capture it?

If you pilot another ship. Send the Gorgon OOS ... might work. You prob tried it already but that’s all I can think of

Digging up a 7 years old post from 2 games past... That's some serious forum memory.
I stand in awe.
(Please don't tell me you just used the search tool. It would shatter the awesomeness.

I had the same situation on version 1.5 with the miner L Crane. The docked ship then flew away.

Doesn't everybody here remember every single post that the revered Nanook ever posted?
I'm sure he'll post again to tell us whether or not the unwelcome lodger flies away given enough time.

You don't do that? I have roughly 2000 open tabs for all discussions here I have contributed to! Internet Explorer 6.
I remembered the question "how to get rid of fighters on captured ships?" had been discussed when X3TC was the newest ES-game. But I could not remember how to solve it. So, yes, I used the Forum search - and I found Nanook's answer.
Could you have resisted?

I give you full mark! The boron scientist in me is proud of you.

You nearly lost some point for that internet explorer reference, though.

Re: Enemy fighter stuck inside captured frigate
Thanks, guys, for remembering my post, which I'd totally forgotten about.
Unfortunately, it didn't help. I think the underlying problem is that there's no pilot on board the HOP fighter (which is showing as neutral, btw), and no way to claim it or assign one to it. And, it also seems that that ship is blocking my defense/repair drones from undocking, as well. I went into battle, with a damaged hull, got hit by enemy fire, and the defense drones wouldn't undock and attack. If the HOP ship was externally docked, I might be able to claim it in my spacesuit. But it's docked internally.
So I guess my best option is to sell the Gorgon as is. Oh, well.
I'm a little surprised no one else has had this problem before, or at least mentioned it.

It is strange that there is no pilot inside. Usually all ships with pilots in space. My later undock miner S was with the pilot inside.

Re: Enemy fighter stuck inside captured frigate
I remember seeing in the game update notes that the crews in ships docked on a captured ship were to be removed. It seems a consequence of that is there is no crew to pilot the docked ships away.Nanook wrote: ↑Mon, 11. Re: Enemy fighter stuck inside captured frigate
The logical and obvious fix to that would be to automatically turn over ownership of the docked ship to the player. Seems like an oversight.

I had a similar issue with a captured Ody and a Gorgon docked to it.Nanook wrote: ↑Mon, 11. That one had a pilot, so after some time (30 mins perhaps?) the gorgon left on its own.
Your case seems to be a bug, either the ownership should have been transferred to you or the fighter should still have a pilot.
Maybe send it on a 1h venture and when it's back the fighter might be gone.
