List of bugs and other annoying stuff

Hello Egosoft,

I would like to thank you for your captivating game that kept me busy for nearly 300 hours. Usually, I’m not a hardcore gamer, but as I saw your game, I thought about the good times I had with X2 (gosh, what a long time ago…) and gave it a try. So far, this game had its up- and downsides, but it never failed to mesmerize me. Even though, I can hardly remember any game that made me google so many questions I had about the gameplay and how things might work. It’s sometimes very frustrating, but nevertheless very entertaining. Many things have been improved with the release of 2.0, but there are some things that are really annoying:

Framerate in menu
- My overall framerate during normal gameplay is between 30-45 fps, but why does it drop so hard to 7-11 fps in the menu? It’s so frustrating to navigate the menu with a sluggish cursor.

Navigating in menu
- In addition to the poor performance, some curious bugs came up with 2.0. Sometimes, when I try to open Station A, Station Y opens up. It even happens when I try to order a ship to trade with a station, that another station ends up with goods it never ordered

Defenceless Defence stations
- Defence modules are built without their weapons equipped. I stumbled across this odd bug because many of my defence stations were blown up with 2.0 and I investigated other stations. Many modules weren’t finished and the station therefore defenceless. It would be nice if a builder would just stop building if there are no turret components or other required goods available.

No warnings about missing drones
- I have many L-freighters that transport wares between build storages and factories. Surprisingly, despite many transport orders, the amounts in the storages didn’t change… I forgot to add cargo drones and the freighters carried out their orders without any warning and everything seemed fine.

No cargo drones in player shipyard
- The reason I forgot the cargo drones was very simple – I couldn’t build them at my shipyard.
• Broken drone management in factories
- The amount of cargo, defence, repair and building drones can’t be changed as it should be. The number or drones seems to be random sometimes. Adjusting the amounts doesn’t change anything.

Factory subordinates fly nearly empty
- When I look into the logical view of a station, I often see inbound transports with ridiculous low numbers of goods. Despite full storage at the factory and enough room in the freighter, ships often don’t use their full capacity. And it is no the case that they fill the remaining space with other goods.

Indestructible Xenon defence stations
- It is so annoying to destroy defence stations. My group of destroyers only targets the main module and after its destruction they simply refuse to destroy the other modules if they don’t have turrets installed which they can target. When I finally manage to kill the station, the Xenon simply create a new construction site that is bulletproof against everything I throw at them.

Disappointing warfare
- I was really looking forward to 2.0. All these posts in the beta-forum on how the Xenon have become fearsome machines of destruction! And the factions are now on a full-scale war!
- When the update came, I was preparing my sector security near the jump gates and braced for war – but nothing happened. Yes, there were more K’s and I’s flying into the adjacent sectors, but as far as I can tell they didn’t manage to kill even one station.
- The faction wars are at best little skirmishes but nothing more. To spice things up, I built some Paranid carriers and destroyers, ordered them into Argon sectors and sold them to the HOP. They got into an embarrassingly boring “fight” with some behemoths which lasted only some minutes. Both sides weren’t able to use their main guns and withdrew after a while. I scanned the Argon vessels and they had the order to attack but acted like they were on a patrol pattern with orders to avoid enemy contact at all costs.

I’m really looking forward to the next update in hope of seeing some of these things fixed.

If you go OOS they'll destroy the whole Xenon defense platform. The indestructible build storage is super annoying and I really hope it's cleaned up in an update in the near future.

If you are at the helm of a ship that doesn't have main guns then teleport to one that does, you wont be able to see the heat build up for your weapons. Getting up and sitting down again fixes this, but its annoying.

Not im my Universe.... please let me elaborate.

Ianamus Zura... has currently 2 defense station... one of them i supplied myself, some building materials. Xenon still banging that sector.
Faulty Logic I has currently two Hop defense stations. Xenon still holding it. Between one group of 7 Hop Destroyers and or one made of 3 Destroyers on patrol duty.
True Sight had one Arg defense station which i supplied myself also some building stuff... Hop didnt liked that and its no more :lol:
Seond Contact II Flashpoint is what i like to call a mess, lol... Ant, Arg and Hop have there one or more defense stations.
Pios Mist II has 1 defense station (HOP) and i have seen some "little fights" between Par and Hop.

Hatikvah´s Choise III.... Xenon just had another defense station in that sector., it has currently between 1-3 Xenon K and a bunch of P and S not counting the rest.. currently im planning or thinking where to put mine (defense station) and to redirect my effords to that sector in order to stop the Red Tide... im more of a builder trader so i expect some learning curve on that front, lol.

Herectic ENd i think ( not ingame at this moment) that belongs to Sca has another factory building ongoing... and im suppling it with wares too to see what happens next, lol...

So it aint an "Full Blown" War but things are on the move for sure and not boring in my opinion.

Funny to see one of my own ships roaming around in other one’s universe :-)
Unfortunately, ventures are now no longer possible, as I have installed some mods to bring some action into my universe. I hope it will work because I don't want to restart...

You lucky one :D There's nothing alike in my universe. Yes, I pounded the Xenon in some sectors very hard and killed one shipyard and one wharf (and some defence stations), but there are still enough xenon sectors and enough hatred for their former creators to flex some artificial muscles! Maybe the new changes apply only in early or midgame.

Not sure about being a "lucky one". I´m an hopeless fighter in other words. Havent got any clue how to play that part :lol:
Currently planning an "Patrol wing" in order to start to stop the red tide Hatvah Choise II ... dont have the Shipyard myself. Saving some bucks for that so the "Rise of the Patrol" might take a while, lol.
