Since 2.0 it seems the NPC shipyards and Wharfs are becoming stuck needing parts, I currently have the HOP Shipyard in need of 105000(one hundred and five thousand) hull parts, and the Argon Wharf in need of 2000 hull parts, and it seems to be getting worse.
This used to happen before of course, it drove the economy a bit as you could sell a lot of hull parts to them, the only difference now is they dont want to buy hull parts!!
I cannot sell hull parts to them despite having factories with a massive stock right next to them, they will not buy them despite needing thousands of them to be able to make any ships, at this rate in my game I will not be able to buy ships from any factions shipyards and wharfs before too long.
Now OK, we can make shipyards and wharfs now so getting ships is still possible(for the player at least), but surely this will lead to a break down in the economy and faction activity in the end.
Anyone else finding this issue?

In my current game start, the shipyards are actually filled to the top with engine and hull parts. To my surprise the AI has built a lot of these factories.
I noticed that the HOP shipyard (as always
) is in need of 4000 hull parts as well but only buys ~2000. I figured that maybe there are already transporters on their way and/or there are ships queued up which take more materials then the shipyard can actually store atm.
I noticed that the HOP shipyard (as always

Code: Select all

They need smart chips. Happened in my game. The hop shipyard says it needs hull parts but doesn't have any buy orders. That is because that's what it will need after it finishes its current build list which was quite long until I built a smart chip complex next to their shipyard. The game world is super deprived of smart chip production which is the primary cause of shipyard production stopping.

My shipyard is in need of hull parts and smart chips even though I have been feeding it for days .
It seems to build for everyone but the owner.
The ships waiting to be built seem to go up and down but I am still waiting.
I have even put two more smart chip production plants on it

Yes, same in one of my more developed save games. I tried everything I could to sell them parts, even just transfer wares to build storage to see if that would work but nothing. Hard to tell the difference between a feature and a bug in this game build.

Not really seeing any of this in my game. Can always buy ships when I need to. I have manually operated traders to keep the HOP shipyard fed.

Reason is simple.... since 2.0 xenon got more active, hence more ships get destroyed, keeping those shipyards busy....Reactivist wrote: ↑Thu, 7. Its not really a problem though, as it can be easily fixed by establishing the respective industry around them. In fact, I also get a lot more missions now, to build exactly these fabs for them.... so you can expect that this is a temporary issue of a living economy, which will fix itself sooner or later (it can take quite a few hours though, until the respective industry is established)

Re: The unstoppable demise of NPC Shipyards and Wharfs
Thanks guys, I have no Xenon in my universe anymore
, they became too annoying after 2.0 so I destroyed all their stations in the last 2 sectors they owned, the demand might be because HOP and ARG are fighting a lot.
I have found my own station near the HOP shipyard isnt making sell offers for its Hull parts, as I tried to make one of my freighters buy hull parts from it and couldnt, Ive no idea why this is(its not on restrict), the HOP shipyard is now actually offering to buy the hull parts but my station wont sell them, most confusing.....
Anyway Ive taken to simply manually using a freighter to take hull parts using transfer ware from my own station and force feed them to the HOP shipyard, not ideal but a lot of odd things have been happening since 2.0..

You might check in the logical overview if Hull Parts are restricted for other factions.

Pretty sure because they stocked up on parts they don't need so much because they still have storage for it instead of using a pretty good average price mechanism to trigger what they actually need.
