cant pick up containers

hello. A few days back, maybe after 2.0 release, I am unable to pick up space fly eggs, load stones, unstable crystal, lock boxes, storage containers etc.. I was able to click on eggs for example, and givin the choice to pilot to it and pick it up. Now, when i click on an item it will not give me the option to go to it. If i turn over my ship to the ncp pilot, it will go to collect the selected item, but it will not show up in my inventory. The same thing no matter what class of ship i send to pick it up. lock boxes appear on my map, but when I arrive, their is nothing there. even tried getting out of ship, use space suit with scanners, and still nothing there. When I direct a ship, (any type) to pick up dropped containers they just mill around and go nowhere. please help.

Not being able to get NPC pilots to pick up inventory items and transfer them to you was intended and has always been the case so far. You must be the player ship pilot yourself to collect floating inventory items.

Please confirm exactly what command circumstances and sequence used to work for you in 1.60 when you were the actual pilot of the player ship, and which do not work for you now in 2.00 release. I cannot see any mention of this aspect in the 2.00 changelog.

Invisible/missing lockboxes and NPCs milling around floating cargo wares are different issues and should be reported in detail in separate threads which may already exist.

Have you verified your X4 gamefile cache since the 2.00 update (if from Steam obviously)?

befor the issue started I would go into an asteroid field, turn on long range scanners and it would show the eggs, load stones, unstable crystals. I would right click on eggs etc.. and the option to pilot to the item would pop up, id click on that and it would lead me to it and i could pick it up. now when i click on it it just says "asteroid" and will not give the option to pilot to it.

You can still target them with the T key so you'd get an exact direction/distance reading. Can't say if that also allows to autopilot to them (via hotkey), I haven't tried that.
