Argon vs Xenon - support the invasion

Post by Faustov »

In 2.0 the invasion really intensivied. A quick peek at the missions showed that - OMG! now exceptional weapon chambers are available for completing these missions!!!

The mission says "support the invasion" and briefly describes they need help in Hatikvah's Choice 1. I built there 3 defence stations, sent 2 behemoths, 2 collosuses and killed couple dozen xenon ships there. Ships keep reporting kills. But mission doesn't budge.

Any clue how to win this mission?

It seems no one does that kind of thing. They're busy building mega complexes which is the part of the game works best and lets the player ignore all other quirks.

This is the best advice I can think of, go modified or wait 3.0.

I have applied by now 200 ship mods but never even seen an "advanced weapon chamber", not to mention "exceptional". Are you sure iit is bugged? ;( I don't see it among "known issues",

I did not find anything relevant on the 2.20 beta changelog, so maybe it is not a bug after all? Would be good to know how much help really are the Argon friends expecting. I mean, I would not sign a contract offering my firepower without clear contract conditions normally ;)

The weapon chambers seem to be the rarest upgrade types from what I can see. I've applied many hundreds of mods, have exceptional ship nanoweave falling out of my butt, but I've found fewer than 10 exceptional weapon chambers.

So true - I'm currently building my 5th 100+ modules production complex for Shipyard support.
However I didn't build a shipyard yet, untill they patch AI building ships in your yard for free.

I have 12+ Exceptional Weapon Mod but no Exceptional Fuel Injectors.

It is largely RNG based. Doing 64 hour ventures helps.

Ah ok the type of Venture might be a cause. I usually do the 8 hour ones because I get more upgrades from it in general, the 20 hour one doesn't give out as many ship upgrades from what I've seen but I haven't tried the 64 hour one more than a couple times.

I have had a lot of bad luck with the 8 hour one killing my ships. So far no losses with the 64 hour one and the 64 hour one always gives back at least 1 exceptional component as well as exceptional paint jobs.

If one is a chancer then the 20 hour one might be more efficient for mod parts, but it has a chance to return nothing of use.

So did I but none of them kill your ships since 2.0 so 8 hour away!

Seems this strongly went offtopic.

The point was about these mods as REWARDS for the quest. And surprisingly, 2.2 fixes the issue. As soon as I loaded by save, in which I spent hours hunting Xenons in HC1, I received the reward.

On a side note, lots of other quests are now available with different mod-type rewards, which I think is brilliant!
