Shipyad 2.0 weird building que

So I made a couple of new games/saves when 2.0 came out, and in both times I noticed some really odd things. First off in both saves the economy stalled. Both engine parts and hull parts.

The really weird thing though was in the first new save when I started supplying the wharf with those missing wares, the wharf would not build from the waiting build list. It would spawn UNKNOWN ships, like 10 of them, and prioritize them. Using up all the engine and hull parts I just delivered. Could never get enough parts to the wharf at one time to get rid of those UNKNOWN ships (literally what the build list said, UNKNOWN). In the first game this prevented me from building or upgrading any ships.

You are not the only one with this problem same thing is happening to me to i got a feeling the every time when new patch hits 2.0 2.5 3.0 and so on we gonna have to start over again

It is like old save file does not recognize the new patch and everything starts to fall apart I'm not sure if it is true or false

I never had stalled economy, and my savegame has been created on version 1.0.
Anyway, many shipyards / warves prioritize their ships over mine, making me to wait a lot before my orders get completed. Providing loads of wares to that buildings solves the problem in my case, even if keeping busy most of my trade fleet (not so bad, prices they buy ship parts are usually good).

When you order a ship, you'll find that it is somewhat prioritised in the queue. What the menu actually displays is based on what resources would be missing once everything in the queue is finished. And there are a LOT of capships queued to be built at that station.

What's really holding things up right now are are Smart Chips. Place an order, deliver some Smart Chips, and see if that gets things going. We'll see if we can make things clearer on the UI side.

the only issue am having atm is the AI is not building ships and i don't understand why i started 1.5 then again new 1.6 now am at 2.0 from save 1.6 and shipyard and wharf are full i don't understand

In addition. The "Unknown Ship" issue is also known. The ships will be correctly named once they launch.
As I mentioned in the quote above, the menu where you configure a new ship may be misleading on what resources are missing from the shipyard. It would be better to judge that from the trade offers available (but keep in mind that some may be hidden as other ships are inbound to deliver them)

That shouldn't be the case. Of course, if it was a save where an economic issues was prevalent, it may take some time to resolve.

Its probably just me. I know I got annoyed with after 6 hours waiting for this nemesis I ordered to be built and it never was, yet every time a new shipment of parts I would deliver would go right into these suddenly appearing UNKOWN ships. just got to me. Lol got so annoyed that I started yet another new game. I'll just try and be more patient with it.

also, just to clarify both games were new 2.0 starts, there was no previous, none 2.0 saves that got updated.

Without investigating your save it's difficult to say. We do like looking into people's saves (sounds creepier than it should) so should you want some form of answer, host it somewhere and let us know exactly what the situation is and what objects are involved.

As for the immediate issue some of you have described here, of ships you have ordered not being built and NPC ships jumping the queue: There are currently situations where this can happen and we have a few ideas on how to improve it. Essentially, it is probably cheaper ships getting built earlier due to them needing less resources than your ships.

Hey! You looked in my saves just before I was going to buy the collector's edition, didn't you!!! :evil: :evil: :evil:


On the matter of the question, I noticed "unknown" orders too in the queue of npc shipyards / warves, but I assumed it was intented behaviour not knowing what a faction is going to build before actually starting to build it in the proper bay.
