Unable to get started due display spinning

Post by TimC340 »

Game version 1.6. Game start: Young Gun. Controller: Thrustmaster T.16000M and TWCS. Windows 10, i5 6500, GTX 1080, 16Gb RAM.

Each time I try and start the game, after the intro video and bon mots, when it gets to the point where you're supposed to be able to interact with the game, the display starts spinning and will not stop whatever I do with any controls or key-presses. I believe the control profile is set to T16000, but there's no feedback to confirm that. I have set 'mouse cursor confined to window' on, and tried to set a custom profile, but nothing seems to make any difference. I have run a search to see if anyone else has this problem, but haven't found anything useful. This combination works fine in Elite Dangerous, P3D and various other programs. What can I do to actually get into the game?

Start by unplugging all input devices except the mouse and keyboard. You can then plug the devices back in, one by one, to work out which one of them is causing the problem. Once you know that, you can then look at the individual buttons and settings for that device to narrow it down to a specific control or setting.

Thanks for the reply. With the T16000 unplugged, at least I could see the game. However, plugging either part of the T16000 in sends the game doollally. I think I'll find a game that actually respects and accepts common control platforms. X4 doesn't look likely to get fired up on my computer again!
