Cockpit/Ship model disappeared (v1.6 - vanilla)

Hi,

I was onboard my player ship docked at a station manually ordering a couple of my NPC trade ships to make trades (engine parts - flitered). I was in the map view (zoomed out to see all deals). With all the mouse clicking I was doing I must have accidently deselected the NPC trade ship and so defaulted back to my player ship. When I set up a trade run(for what i thought was for my NPC trader but was actually for the my player ship) my ship took off but my cockpit disappeared completely. It appears I am still onboard the ship but the cockpit has gone. When I switch the external view the player ship model has also disappeared. The situation appears to be similar to the circumstances in this post -https://steamcommunity.com/app/392160/d ... 791993190/ and the screen-shot given is exactly the same as what I am experiencing. I have tried restarting the game but the problem persists on both my last auto and quick saves (unfortunatley my last hard save was ages ago). Has anyone else experienced this or know of a fix, please?

p.s - I run the game through GOG not Steam and I am running the game vanilla without any mods installed.

Can you provide the savegame in question? Instructions on doing so are at the top of the forum, along with the other information we need to have any real chance of being able to help.

Apologies - how do I send details of the save game, please? I have located the .gz file but I can't figure out how to send it via the forum. I also have a crash report (.dmp file) from around the same time as the save file but similarly I can't work out how to send the details. I have read the two sticky's at the top of the Tech Support but these don't seem to explain how to send the files via the forum. Thanks in advance.

If you are supplying information that will not conveniently fit into posts in this forum (approx 70,000 character limit per post), in the worst case you can split long text files across 2 consecutive posts, or ideally you can upload the data to a reputable public fileshare site (a few examples are Google Drive, DropBox or PasteBin, etc) but please don't use sites that spam advertising or require registration for downloads.

In settings you can map a button to turn cockpit on/off. I believe its called "Toggle cockpit" ...give that a try.
It usually resets to showing the cockpit though after loading a game. So it may not fix your problem.

Btw..when you turn off your cockpit, you won't see your ship in external view. That is normal.
