Button with =TextIDNotFound= label

Post by jhmace »

In the startup menu where the custom button is supposed to be.
When I click on it I do see the mod listed there but the 3 buttons at the bottom also say TextIDNotFound on them.

Any ideas.

And yes I did try to search but came up empty.

This normally occurs when:

a) You try to run the game direct from the CD or from your own shortcut rather than the Start menu.

b) You have applied the 1.3 patch to a 1.0 game without first applying the 1.2 patch.

If neither of these apply, try reinstalling the game.

That was it. I guess there was a reason I kept the 1.1 and 1.2 patches.

Might be a good idea to make an all inclusive patch named 1.0 to 1.3 patch and make the others more specific. 1.0 to 1.1, 1.1 to 1.2 and 1.2 to 1.3

The "baseline" for all future patches is likely to be 1.2, since that's the European release version--you don't need 1.1 at all.

Ugh. Yeah, I'll back that, iterative patches are a pain in the BUTT. Take a page from nVidia and ATI and have a comprehensive patch-set to update most anything. A few extra megs won't kill anyone, and they'll save a lot of trouble down the road.
