Hi I use wireless headphones. So when the turn off from inactivity there is no sound when you reconnect the headphones. Also if you change audio devices after the game is running the change does not take effect until you restart the game. If you could add a feature to allow the game to check for audio device changes. And to allow previously connected audio devices to reconnect if the are disconnected during game play.
Thanks
Add feature be able to check for audio device change after game launch - Now possible in 3.0

Shouldn`t Windows or the Headphones themselves be doing that? Are you using USb wireless?
I have wireless too. They do cut off with a period of no sound but will re-engage as soon as sound is back on. But mine are not usb and work through my soundcard.

Yes I am using usb wireless. And also windows 10. The issue I am having is that when the headphones disconnect and reconnect there is no sound. Now this relates to my other problem because when I change my audio output to computer speakers there is still no sound. And my windows sound manger says that the game is still trying to use the headphones. And this also happens when I am trying to switch from computer speakers to headphones. Any audio device change only takes effect after restarting the game.

viewtopic.php?f=180&t=410609 is the tech support bug report thread for this problem.
So far the devs have not acknowledged this as a bug, preferring to declare that this is normal behavior for most games.
Providing a description of the usability problems that this causes you, over in that thread, might help change their minds over time as more and more complaints accrue. Or at least post there with a link back to this thread so they can read about your problem.

Yes. I had USB headphones once. Never again. Too many issues that I never get with phono headphones that you just pop in the back (or front) of your pc. I would advise going to good NON-USB phones, not just for X4, but everything you do on your PC. Much easier to go into Windows and fix any issues too. You`ll thank me for it in the end.ned228 wrote: ↑Fri, 11. Jan 19, 17:41 Yes I am using usb wireless. And also windows 10. Re: Add feature be able to check for audio device change after game launch
I've had a number of USB headsets (I break about 2-3 gaming headsets per year, it's terrible, so I have tried a lot of different kinds). I generally agree with Socratatus that analog headsets are the most reliable. But among the USB headsets I've owned, some have been good, others bad. Mostly the bad ones come down to horrible driver implementations. If you use a USB headset from a big-name, reputable manufacturer like Logitech they generally work well. If you buy the cheap ones (like I do mostly) it's a very random experience, sometimes they work well other times they have a lot of issues.Socratatus wrote: ↑Mon, 14. Jan 19, 09:39 Yes. I have this problem too, in that I'll be playing a game like Overwatch with my headset. I'll take a break, take my headset off, but leave the bluetooth usb for my headset plugged in. When I later start X4 i have to use the headset, or restart the game with the bluetooth usb already removed, for my normal speakers to work.
Not super annoying, but a little annoying.
