I humbly request that the feature to allow controller button combinations to be bound to functions instead of only single button presses, be added to X4. This possibility was already found in X3, and I truly hope it will be added to X4 as well soon.
For example: On an Xbox controller, this would mean being able to map RB + A to "open map" or, say, DPad-up + LT to "launch countermeasures" ect.
This would dramatically increase quality of life for gamepad / joystick users allowing binding a vastly larger amount of commands to the pad, alleviating the constant and repetitive need to swap to mouse & keyboards for many common commands.
Sincerely and with hope,
Vux

I second this request. I just spent half an hour trying to use the current scheme and it's a pain.

I third this! It would help a ton even with a HOTAS with nearly 20 buttons. There are so many functions to be mapped!
Care to see what I've been creating? https://www.youtube.com/user/ytubrute

How is this still not implemented?
Bought the game at release on GOG and I still regret it because I cannot play it on my HOTAS without this QoL feature.

Re: [REQUEST] Please implement multi-button controller bindings
I don't know equivalent programs for Windows, but on Linux I already use this with my sc-controller mapping for the steam controller (e.g. left-grip + A button sends the "F" key) and my antimicro mapping for my HOTAS kit. I think there are interface hurdles to implement it currently, so it is best to use an external program.
Brazilian Linux-only user living in Poland, https://steamcommunity.com/id/patolinux on Steam. PC I use for playing: Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 64 GB 6GHz DDR5 CL30, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, ArchLinux on KDE 6 Wayland
Controllers: steam controller via sc-controller or HOTAS set: Saitek X52 Pro + MFD F-16 + G29 pedals.
VR headset: Valve Index & Meta Quest 2. My other PC: Steam Deck OLED with nReal AIR AR headset
