Capital Ship Cockpits

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but all of the capital ships I have been in have the same cockpit.

I don't have $5000 to spend on 3D-Studio-Max but I do have the Povray Modeler under Linux (KDE) and was wondering if this could be used to mod in new cockpits.
The ship models in the game are fine the way they are. I was just wanting to change the internal cells to give a variety of cockpit designs.

Is anyone else working on this?

Sadly I couldn't get my hands on that tool either yet, or I'd make that my priority :(
Also all figher cockpits match.... real sad, they are great, but I'd love to have some more racial looks for 'em.

I Tried looking for the TS Cockpit seen an official screenshot, it would work nice for the more military-orinted TSs.
