[Request] Further Ship Modding

I would like for more modification to ships be implemented as you progress further in the game. I was envisioning increasing past just small mods like adding armor plates to the outside of a ship for defense. I really was thinking of ways to get service crew into the action organically. If the ship were to be run from power plants, and that power is what everything functions from, those service crew could boost those various system depending on the situation, similar to how some other game do things like Star Trek Online, with offense, defense and mobility I believe. I was thinking about ecm, eccm, beam weapons, shields, radar, scanning, hull polarization and maybe some other things I am not thinking of at the moment. As the ships are larger, they would have larger crews, more people being stationed in engineering, tactical, radar and other stations at all times, and the better the crew the better bonuses, and types of bonuses they could provide, like taking down enemy shields for 3 seconds at a time, or a tactical officer that can cloak a small boarding contingency for a short time and other things like that.

I am not sure how much of this is feasible, or how long any of it would take, but the crew system may also get it's own update from Vanilla at some point too, but was just a thought.
