[BUG] 1.5 Crew is not retained in ship building LOADOUTs
Long story short, I create a loudout and next time I build the ship, there is no crew other than a pilot. I wouldn't care of this was a bug with S figter, but if you build a carrier and all it makes a crew of 1 man... please... fix.. this... Even if I edit the loadout and overwrite it. Next time I load the loadout - no crew again.

Crew are not part of a loadout as they can't simply be assembled from parts!

Crew are part of the default presets (low, medium, high).

Hi CBJ, The issue here is not in presets, but that my crew setup doesn't get saved in my Loadout. There is a diskette button that allows you to save your custom ship configuration into your custom Loadout that you give a name. Everything is saved except the crew. Even if I configure the ship and then add the crew, and then save all that into a custom loadout, when I load this loadout on a new ship, the crew doesn't make it in. Kinda of a flow, if you are saying that I can only save parts as a part of my custom loadout, and always have to manually assign the crew because only the pilot makes it in.
I understand that the crew is not the parts, but we talking here in gaming terms, crew is a set of variables that you guys might have forgotten to add into the same container that all the parts are added into, when the custom loadout is saved to another variable that uses a player assigned name.

It wasn't me that mentioned presets. As I said, they are not, and cannot be, part of the loadout.

Re: [BUG] 1.5 Crew is not retained in ship building LOADOUTs
Is there a more specific reason as to why they are not saved in Loadout? I mean when you select presets, they come with crew added. I really don't see any reason why they should not be saved too.
I don't want to add crew every time I order new ships as well as I don't want to configure the ships each an every time with engines, weapons, shields etc. Currently the Crew only seems to be a number that does not seem to have a very noticeable affect on what the ship is doing or how it performs.

Hi, CBJ! Sorry for being a pest, but can you please explain what you mean by "crew simply can't be assembled from parts...". Are you referring to the way the game is coded, or to a 'common sense'? Can you explain in techy terms? Why is it impossible to make a crew be a part of a loadout? Am I wrong assuming that the crew is coded in a similar way to any other 'part' of the ship?
I don't have much time to delve into modding and see if this is just a mishup that can be adjusted for our players convenience, or at this point is impossible from the programming point of view and would require too much effort to fix. I say fix because it looks like a 'bug' that everything is retained in a loadout but crew can't. Can you please, at your convenience, provide more detailed explanation for why the crew CAN'T be a part of a loadout.

I agree, this is an issue. The default presets can have crew in them, the player made presets should be able to save the crew settings as well.

Re: [BUG] 1.5 Crew is not retained in ship building LOADOUTs
That is not consistent with how the game currently works.
- A ship selected from parts has no crew
- A ship selected from a preset option has crew based on the preset.
A player saved configuration comes with 1 crew member - the captain.
The including of a captain is the worse of both options for any ship other than a fighter as it allows a player to forget to add the additional crew needed to correctly operate the ship.
So if the captain/Pilot is 'assembled from parts' can not the others be as well. It is not like crew are a game resource, they are currently an unlimited resource at ship build/upgrade time.
