Target Surface Objects

Hi,

I'm struggling to target surface objects on cap. ships or stations.
I thing this was possible by pressing T for "Target Object". But now T only targets wohle ships/stations which ar vaguely near the crosshair and not the turrets I'm pointing at. I know i could toggle trough surface objects with HOME and END but thats not easy in the heat of a fight...

I have to say that my controller-mapping got messed up lately so i had to redo the mapping. Maybe i missed something.

Any ideas how to fix my turret problem?

Have the same problem,, cannot target first surface object unless clicked with mouse, can cycle the rest after mouse click,,,HOTAS...X 52 pro.
Target everything but what I am looking at.... same happens sometimes with Stations requesting docking.
