I completed the AP Gunner mission but didn't get a Wheat Farm like some other people do.

Anybody know the reason why some people get it and some don't?

Me neither.

You don't get it if you lose the TL ship, or if you hit another friendly.
I didn't lose the TL and AFAIK I didn't hit a friendly, and I still didn't get one.
Although I already had bought one and dropped it in the wall.

EDIT: Amazing how much the word "Didn't" can mean

Did the Khaak blow up the first Mammoth ?

That is the one with Elena Kho on it so if you do not save it, she`ll not be around to reward you.. I think.

You`ll get a message a little while after the mission giving you your reward.

Was under the impression that there were 2 factors in this, first you had to make sure the first mammoth throught the gate survived, second was to NOT follow Sapien II to black hole sun.

I could be wrong though, its been known to happen.

I didn't get the freebie farm myself, but I also lost a police license during that mission, so I know that I had a friendly fire incident - probably one stray shot that cost me a few hundred thousand Cr worth of factory - slightly upsetting!

I "accidentally" hit some friendlies during that mission with my rear turret PSGs & I still got the free Wheat Farm.
And I'm running 1.3.

Same here. Hit a lot of friendlies.. Didn't kill anyone though.
Anyway, is the location for that Wheat farm any good? Just so I know if I should buy transports for it or just blow it up to get rid of it (I didn't ask for no stupid wheat farm now did I?!!

The first Mammoth got through, even though there were a few Khaaks left when it jumped in, and I followed Bret (was that his name?) to Block Hole Sun, and no I didn't get the wheat farm either. Not that I care much because the one I dropped in Herron's Nabula is constantly sold out at max price but it is not really making me much money.

Somebody at Terracorps must have forgotten to put shields on their Mammoths. A "normal" Mammoth should have no problem bullying through those puny little Khaak clusters and stomping them flat in the process!

The Mammoth DIES in some of your games? How in God's name does the thing die?? It has 625Mw of shielding??

In any case, I did get the Wheatfarm, but don't worry if you don't get it, because it's in a ridiculous sector (Light of Heart) where it makes absolutely pitiful money. I put 100k money into it, and assigned a Manta as trader, for a total of about 360k, and it looks like it will take the thing approximately 4000 hours to make that money back.
Not to mention the fact that I had to extend sector defenses into that area, because I REALLY didn't want to have my Manta blown up and add 260k in expenses to that fab.

I think I'm just going to destroy the thing, it's as pointless a reward as I've ever seen.

The wheat farm placement is always in a random Argon sector. I hadn't heard of anyone getting one down by Light of Heart, but at least that sector has a M1 playing guard duty.

I can confirm in 1.3 that I got both the Best Buys locator AND the wheatfarm - located in Montalaar which is wicked!!

Ive done it twice now and can confirm that I got Wheat farms both times.
1st one in Argon Prime (Dam thing crashed into The Trading station.
2nd time I did the mission it was in Nathans Voyage and it is still there so Im happy

My first game, I got a wheat farm in the Wastelands, the last time it was in Argon Prime. The placement seems to be random. However, whether you get it or not I believe depends on how many Khaak and Teladi you personally kill. The one time I didn't get it, I let the AI pilots kill most of the enemy. Coincidence?
