Can not use Venture dock or supporting structures - resolved

Whether or not your game is modified - No.
Game start being played. The young gun.
Game was downloaded via STEAM.

Exact nature of the problem, where and when it occurs and what you were doing at the time. - I starting playing a save that I started with when the game first came out and noticed the problem. Both the Venture dock and platform are grayed out and say that I don't have any copy's left. But I have not used them. I had already registered the game and checked. Registering could not be the issue because I have the models in game, just grayed out.
It's as if the game thinks I have used them already.

The rest of the venture parts don't even recognize the dock. What do I do?

Any possibly relevant changes you have made to your game, system, or software before the issue occurred. - I did notice that may station planning that was being built was removed and I had to add it back in. I Verified the integrity of the game files and reloaded the game.

Please make sure you are logged in using the "Online Features" menu of the game's options menu - otherwise the game won't know that you are allowed to build a Venture Platform and a Venture Dock.

The other Venture modules can only be connected to eachother and a Venture Platform is needed as a "bridge" between regular station modules and the venture modules.

I logged in but nothing happened. It is strange though. My user name is different than the one on this site but it still sends me to the correct page.

I checked out the documentation you linked. The important part was linking my forum account to Steam. Thank you for the help!

That should probably be made more obvious on the login screen (when you register and login, you expect to be logged in).

I've managed to build the dock as a standalone building as I couldn't get it to connect to normal structures. How do I send ships through the dock. There is no option other than the usual choices

Venture Platform is needed as a "bridge" between regular station modules and the venture modules. As in you have to have the Venture Platform attach to the normal station parts. Then it will let you put the Venture module on linked to it. Then once built you have a right click dock at venture module. Then you land or teleport to station. Use the elevator to go to the Venture Platform. There is a control panel there to lunch ship that are docked.

I have a similar issue with the Venture function. I was able to build the Venture station, but I do not see the option to use "Venture from..."

Problem solved.

When I went online I noticed that I have been inactive since 2011. Even though I had registered x-4. So I found my old logon and signed in. Then I re-allowed ventures. Now the docks are open to me. Finally.

I don’t know how I was able to register the game, be logged in but not logged in, it’s a bit confusing… But it’s working now.

This would be good to have listed in the in-game description for the modules to save players wasting a couple of hours building a base that then doesn't work and that has to be rebuilt.

Even better would be if it weren't possible to build them in the wrong order, which was the intended behaviour. If we'd known you could do it before this was reported, then of course we'd have documented it.
