I know this isn't a top of the list new feature and the game has a lot of problems we have to worry about first.
But I really like stay on my Big Ships, make stuff using the Map and when needed pick the right ship from the Hangar and fly away and after come back.
It's like my Home. And I prefer it than a station...becouse I love moving home.
So it will be so cool for me if someone ( Egosoft you are welcome ) will improve this aspect of the game.
We can have:
- Bar with jukebox for selecting music, a screen with news about the universe, npc giving quest ( like a secretary pickin up all the quests from place where we have satellites and so on ).
- Docking bay to repair docked ships faster ( at the cost of money like in a Wharf )
- Training room for the crew ( pay money for a little boost )
- Capitan's cabin and engine room just for immersion
- passage to go to some turrets
And so On.

I was just thinking the same thing last night. they have race specific corridor pieces, engineering parts, windows, one could make a whole deck where you walk to the longe, go to engineering, etc. I am interged and may work with someone on this, currently im just doing some mods to fix things more immediate. turrets not having UI commands for most ships is a major issue of mine atm.

Turrets not having any UI parts is apparently fixed in the current public beta 1.5. On the note of interiors though, people are still trying to figure out how to get ships with non-vanilla models into the game. So any sort of fancy interiors might have to wait just a bit, though with the construction system in place, In the distant future I could see people implementing some sort of modular interior thing.
