1.5 How to destroy Xenon build storage? (Bug)
Xenon are building their station in my sector. I destroyed the station, but the build storage (dock) is still there. Ships from other races (even my miners) dock to it and supply it with resources, and the station keeps rebuilding itself over and over again. Build storage doesn't show up on the map, but my ships keep trying to destroy it. Problem is that its hull is always at 100%, no matter how many ships are attacking it. Some ships from other races are also attacking it, unsuccessfully. So, question: is there a way to destroy it? It's quite annoying that the station is popping up again and again, even though I have my defence station in the sector.

Yes, I have the same question, how to destroy it... But in my case, I cannot target it... it doesn't appear on the map, and when I attack it, the Structure Scan (Shift 2) sees it, and tells me is 100%, but after 30 minutes of hitting it, nothing changed, it stays 100%... This has happened to me as I am starting to conquest Faulty Logic I, which has 2 stations... I don't think is a "feature of the game", I think is a bug... I see constructor ships from the Paranid and other factions, come OUT of Faulty Logic II... So, the xenon will try to rebuild every station you destroy... I expend several hours destroying every single drone on the station and fending off some Xenon destroyers and other ships... Including a miner that was coming to dock in the freaking Build Storage... If anybody from EGOSOFT reads this, please ask to fix it, or state it as a "feature of the Xenon"...

You can't destroy it. This bug is basically destroying combat in the game right now. It totally screws up the AI pilots, who constantly try to kill the storage and never give up. It is pretty game breaking right now and super frustrating to deal with. It is basically not even worth trying to invade Xenon sectors because of this.

Because of this awful bug HOP fleet is stuck in Faulty Logic I and can’t advance, can’t return home, can’t fight off PAR and ARG. So basically their entire war effort is crippled. This is so simple to fix, just make AI ignore build storage. Or make it possible to destroy it. It’s 1.5 already, and this gamebreaking bug is still in the game.

I figured out how to make a mod to fix this. I found the fix in the Foundation of Conquest and War V. 1.25 mod and extracted just this change out to a separate mod. I put it on Nexus. Credit goes to authors of the FOCW mod.

For me what has worked is the following:
I have destroyed the Xenon Platforms in Faulty Logic sectors...
I believe if I add production modules to my new stations, they will enable me to purchase MAINTENANCE DRONES that will repair the station if attacked by some stray Xenon ships, that is why I will arm each module to the teeth and put Defense Disks and Bridges all around! It is a war after all...
I am still wondering why the Xenon plots are still there??? Once you destroy the Xenon Stations, their plots should disappear completely!!! and you should be able to build on top of their stations, so the freaking issue with their build storage is "resolved" by your own station guns! I guess the reason the plots are still there is the result of the indestructible build storage
Any better suggestions are welcome...
I have destroyed the Xenon Platforms in Faulty Logic sectors...
- Once destroyed, I have purchased plots RIGHT NEXT TO THE ORIGINAL XENON STATIONS, make sure the green "wall" of your plot border is right next to the red "wall" of the Xenon former plot... I have made my plots 10k x 10k x 10k... And centered them next to the former xenon station plot.
- To put up your Defense Platform, do not forget to place the Admin Center FIRST, then add at least one docking module... I recommend you put at least some defense disks... The xenon will attack it...
- Hire a builder.
- Assign MANY ships to protect the station and another group of ships to PATROL the sector. I have used 3 groups of 3 Behemoths to patrol the sector and another 3 to protect each station... Make sure your Behemoth builds have only weapons that do not require recharges (like missiles), and have some Repair Drones.
- Set their weapons to ATTACK ALL ENEMIES after setting the wings to roam the sectors.
- Notice that the sphere created around your new station also covers the area around the former Xenon Station, so any enemy ship that approaches the area will eventually be attacked by your wolfpacks...
- The Behemoths will target the Xenon ships carrying supplies to the build storage of a new Defense Platform they will put in the sectors and destroy any Xenon ships they encounter there... And no new Xenon platform will be built...
- If you target the new Xenon Platform, and you travel there you will hit a transparent wall, that is the new station in construction, if you open fire you will see your weapons hit a transparent structure...
- I have put my Behemoth to attack it for several hours and nothing happened to it... I guess is YET ANOTHER BUG in the BETA GAME WE ARE ALL TESTING for EGOSOFT...

Guys, the reason the stations come back is because the build storage can't be destroyed. The devs made it indestructible. There is a mod that allows you to destroy it which fixes the Xenon issue but causes another issue. If your own station's build storage is destroyed the station becomes bugged and is no longer able to be modified. If you try to modify it the game will crash.
I think these problems are due to unfinished code in the game. I'm sure the build storage was supposed to be killable but there were issues so the devs made it indestructible until they could work out the issues.
The way the build storage interacts with the game is fairly complex which is why no one has made a successful mod to fix it yet.
So right now you have two alternatives. You can use the mod that allows the build storage to be killed and just protect your own build storages from destruction so your stations aren't bugged. Or you can just wait until the devs fix the game when they get back from break. Unfortunately, the second options means ships will constantly hang up at build storages and keep trying to kill them over and over again. This has a huge impact on war. Option 1 can have a huge impact on you if your stations are attacked.
So there isn't a good solution right now.

Yep, this is happening to me right now too. I managed to fix the economy by supplying all wharfs and shipyards. Then the war starts and everything went crazy so I decided to try the war thing and I helped HOP invading Faulty Logic. Now all the fleets are stuck shoting a build storage, which is pretty game-breaking. I think I will take a break of the game until the devs return from vacations.

This makes partial sense but why do they stay after the station is dead and there is no plot left if you check the map? I have a few in silent witness XI that keep using the coms with the voice of the long dead managers. Couldn't they just ad a despawn timer on it after there is no plot left with no building buy offers and nothing in storage? Just check: Is there anything ordered to build? I just place some laser towers around the dead xenon station and build storage after its defeated. Prevents them from rebuilding it.
If you want to get rid of your own stations, there is a mod out there that lets you comm the manager to have the whole thing scrapped for about 80% of its value. Removes the plot too. Just dont be on the station when you order its removal.

The build storages are indestructible and aggro NPC ships even when the plot of the destroyed station is no longer there. Xenon often does not even rebuild in the same location.

Yes it is a bug and it sucks. AI ships also for some reason get stuck attacking any wreck in sight after defeating an enemy force. The game is a buggy mess at the moment.
Best we can do for now is to try and work around those issues.
