1.32 Station traders resetting ware list every trade cycle

It seems that every time a trader completes a trade cycle, the wares that they will trade is reset to match what the station builds.

For example, this trader. 16 wares in total. If I remove energy cells from the list, it will be re-added once the current trade cycle is completed. The net effect of this on my play is that my traders are perpetually stuck trading energy cells, instead of selling the much more expensive products that my complex produces.

I know that I can turn off energy cell distribution with the "Restrict trade with other factions" option, but that also locks NPC traders from being able to dock and buy them. I produce a vast excess of energy cells, so if people want to dock and buy them, they should be able to... I just don't want my traders spending their time moving energy cells. It's a complete waste, and having the wares reset in this situation seems like a bug.

I can see why this functionality might be intended. Maybe you add a station to your complex later, and produce a new ware. Your traders should be able to start trading that ware automatically. However, the current functionality means that in 20-ish hours of my complex trying to trade, it's only ever sent traders out to sell energy cells. Which is just ... not right. :)

Trying to get a ship to sell one commodity from my station is imposabley hard.
Most of the time the station has it going out and buying stuff. No No No
I want it to sell one thing from the station.
Finely got it to sell just EC's but it went off and got them from another solar station and sold those instead. WTF.
Is there a way?
I have it set to sell wares, Its assigned to the station.
Yet it go's of and buy's stuff instead.
The second ship I gave up on, sent it of auto trading independently instead. I had wasted enough time already.

Have the same problem.
Got a station that is supposed to produce hull parts, inputs are refined metals (2 ships to buy) and Methane (1 ship to mine).

The mining works sort-of. I got a large miner which sometimes just docks and then stays around a while without transferring the wares although there's space, but sooner or later somehow he manages and goes back mining.
The 2 supply ships don't work at all. They filled up their cargo with medical supplies and food (for the workes), transferred that to station. Then they went out and filled up again on medical supplies and food, returned to station, realized they can't transfer that much, and that's that then.

Now I have a station with enough medical supply and food for years (workers probably having a drug-fueled eating contest), overflowing on graphene and energy cells.... and no refined metal to produce hull parts. Yippie! :(

Refined Metals are available at good price and just around the corner, I even have a station selling those cheap.

Being able to override the manager and have ships trade what I want seems like it should be a function without neededing to mod.

Right now I have 3 ships mining ore, a surplus of ore and no silicon. Yet every time I remove ore from any of the ships it gets put back on and they go off and mine ore again. My station is at a stand still for a lack of silicon.

We don't need Mod's we need the game to work properly in the first place.
Did they try any of this before release? Obviously not enough!
This kind of missed options is unfathomable when they had games that did all this stuff very well before!!
Do they not have a list of what worked before and reuse it in the new game, then concentrate on new and better ships, sectors, more map, Etc.

Exactly - I don't want to install a mod with totally unpredictable consequences for something this basic.

Hydrogen gas miner (A Magnetar (Gas) Vanguard) on another of my stations has developed a new illness. Instead of docking on one of the available piers and transferring all his 21000m³ at once it docks on Pier1, transfers ~500m³, then undocks, docks on Pier2, transfers next ~500m³, undocks, docks next pier.... what the hell?
Storage space is plenty on the station and mostly empty, since there's not so much coming in with miners doing it like that!

You're absolutely right, it does fix this specific issue. However... it also means that if you add a new ware to the station, your traders won't pick it up. A better way of fixing this would be to have a per-trader option that allows the player to decide if the ship should automatically add new wares to its trade list, which when enabled, would only add new wares to the trader when they were added to the station. The current functionality just screams "temporary fix" (to me, at least).

An even better solution would be for this to be the way the base game works without mods, though.

Mods are awesome, mods are great, not everyone wants to rely on mods to patch the game to work.
