Stories from the X4-Universe

Post by Mavo Pi »

I just wanted to share this little story as it was the most fun I had in the game so far:

Yesterday I had my first serious fight in paranid space.

A Hat fighter and behemoth attacked my trade ship, I transported to the trader in the last second and docked it at the nearest station. Then I switched to the gorgo frigate which escorted the trader and quickly destroyed the fighter. After that I went on to the behemoth and managed to disable it's shields while some xenon and Khaak show up.

I join the paranid defence forces in destroying the xenon and Khaak, scoop up the remainders and then continued with the behemoth, taking out all its turrets and doing big damage to the hull. Now I wanted to capture that thing but in the process right after sending in my marines I notice some paranoids turning red on me. Apparently I scooped up some illegal xenon components.

I lure most of the paranid away from the behemoth but they follow me into teladi space where I hide at a station.
After capture the Behemoth is still swarmed by two enemy fighters but I promote one of the marines to become captain and the rest are assigned to service crew.

The service crew managed to repair some turrets and hull so the behemoth could start shooting back and finally managed to destroy the fighters.

I order the captain to repair at the nearby shipyard and he slowly crawls there with heavily damaged engines.

Most paranid police forces turned blue by now but there was one gorgo which was harassing my station I had in the system and would not turn blue because of the turrets. The gorgo already destroyed two of the stations transports

I switched to my personal fighter which is my starter discoverer tuned with some modifications and begin my attack. After I shot down the gorgos hull a fair bit the crew bailed and it turned blue.

Luckily all remaining paranids turned blue and I was still at 24 faction rep. Lost 2 M freighters and 8 defence drones but gained a behemoth and a gorgo. So the fight was well worth it.

Please feel free to share your own experiences(but without too much spoilers as there is a separate spoiler forum) :)

Nice story.

I remember Cpt Colen Donel... Here he is. I was observing as he practised his flying skills.

I thought, "This guy might actually serve as my 2nd in command..." as I watched him navigate through the Void, avoiding the nasty glowing little rocks.

He was a loyal if not that-yet skilled relief captain of one my new fighters that I`d just bought. While exploring, we found an abandoned ship. Told him to take control while I spaced walked out and got the other one.

Then we got attacked by two pirates. It took me a while to get used to the new ship which was bigger.

However, Cpt Colen Donel wasn`t so lucky. I heard him cry, "I`m Hit!" but I thought he`d be ok, it was a good ship he had, my personal ship. Finally I got the lasers working on the found ship and took out the enemy... but...

I looked around and no ship except a floating husk and no Cpt Colen Donel.

You will be missed, Sir. Salute!

2. Stations need sirens/warnings when enemy is close in numbers or Station in danger of destruction (in Sandbox).
Yes, for immersion. Thankyou ahead of time. (Edit: This is actually happening!!!)

The adventure of the Beep Beep I'm A Sheep Cargo ship!

Space dock bars, Do not visit one on your own. Last thing I remember was one of those Teladi telling me how awesome his freighter was. Next thing I know I wake up in the cargo bay of a L Class Freighter bound for "Gawd Knows Where". I have been shanghaied to work aboard this Teladi slave boat it seems. "Not this Paranid, I am not going to be some Teladi Slave today or tomorrow", I made my way through the cargo bays through to the forward bulkhead. There was the little b*****d that shanghaied me, This little green skinned lizard is going for a space walk.

Waiting for the right moment is as boring as watching the cockroaches on board this Teladi Flee trap fight over a scrap of food dropped on the floor. Time passed and this lucky space cadets time was approaching as it looks like he was coming to see if I was awakened yet from my drunken slumber in the cargo bay. "Big mistake buddy!", I grabbed this little green skinned lizard while hold his mouth shut tight I moved his body towards the airlock. Pushing him inside, I slammed the door and he was stuck, with a flick of my middle finger I hit the vent button and he was gone, that's one Frosty Teladi Popsicle in space, now for the rest of the crew.

Moving forward to the cockpit, it was all but silent.......... I peeked into the cockpit and not a soul, suspicious I thought so I waited in the shadow of the stairwell to the cargo bay for some time. Autopilot started screaming and no one came........ "Am I alone on here?" I thought. Taking the plunge I moved into the cockpit to find the ship on auto pilot to a trading station, quick check to see we are full of Engine Parts and a valid order from the station. I decided to continue this ships voyage, looks like I have hit payday thank to this scum Teladi trying to shanghai me into working on his ship.

Arriving at Argon Shipyard, I dock the ship, unload the wares and make good on the deal. Well looks like I have sort of inherited a cargo ship, decided to make it legal, claiming I found her adrift in space I get her registered to myself (thanks to the black market hacking assistance) and set off to make my fortune in my new shiny though smelling of Teladi (going to take a while to clear that smell out) cargo ship.

Hours later I am passing time reading logs in the Beep Beep I'm A Sheep ship's computer and I find something that will change my life for ever and it reads;

Dear Mother

Well I have finally bought my trade ship (I named her after your favorite song mother "Beep Beep I'm A Sheep") but alas no one will work for me. I seem to be to green in trading for people to trust my ability. But I have friended a Paranid in the bar, he has drank way to much, though he offered to give me a go and work for a fair commission of my profitzzz. I had to carry his passed out body into my ship and hopefully he will wake up and be sober enough to help unload our first delivery.

Exciting times mother, I hope I can make you proud. Be well mother, I must go and wake my new partner up and get him ready. I shall come see you next time we are in sector.

Your son

Benny

Oh gawd, what have I done...... I killed my boss, someone I made friends with and agreed to help get their business off the ground for a fair commission. "How can I ever look myself in the mirror now for what I have done?" This is shameful, this is disgraceful, this is just plain wrong.... How can I make some right out of this wrong.............

Beep Beep I'm A Sheep's Log : Today alas Benny was doing some EVA maintenance when a thruster failed and burnt him to a crisp. Poor little fella, was such a nice boss too. Well I shall carry on and make Benny's dream come true and make many profitzz, For I am a Paranid and don't give two s**t's about anyone else!

Moral of the story - Don't trust a Paranid ever, especially a drunk one.
