SUBJ
Which pretty much leads to quite some game mechanics abuse.
At very least it allows you to cycle "faction" mission, by picking and abandoning those you don't like. At worse it allow you simply board and then sell "spawned" abandoned ship.
For the last part though, that unfortunately necessity, since that type of mission is broken, and don't provide any credits reward at all. And as such also no reputation.
No penalties for abandoning/failing the mission

Re: No penalties for abandoning/failing the mission
While I`m kind of relieved there`s no penalty i do feel bad.
I think there should be a small reputation drop if you abandon a mission. Too many reputation drops and fewer people will hire you and for less money until your reputation grows back.

1. Please do more on NPC civilian/uniform variety, and bio customisations, Devs.
2. Stations need sirens/warnings when enemy is close in numbers or Station in danger of destruction (in Sandbox).
Yes, for immersion. Thankyou ahead of time. (Edit: This is actually happening!!!)

Exactly my thoughts. Although reputation should be based on reward of particular part of the mission.Socratatus wrote: ↑Fri, 14. Dec 18, 20:39 While I`m kind of relieved there`s no penalty i do feel bad.

Due to game been a sandbox its a good thing that you actually can purposely fail the mission for like gaining free ship. But there still should be appropriate penalties for that, so it would be as "free".
Also. About gaining free ship. so far i saw it for two factions. And if for Teladi it purposely says you should retrieve the ship (fatal extraction). For Scale Plate pact they just give you mission to clear the minefield. But often it happens there is abandoned ship there. So unlike for teladi's equivalent, you don't even need to fail the mission to be able to get free ship. Though that i suppose purely a bug.

Yeah I remember back in X3 that when you abandoned a mission you took a rep hit.

With that many mission bugs right now, I'm glad there is no penalty

Even worse is that if you join a guild you get constant abandoned ships from the missions, even if you dont accept the mission. These ships just spawn around you as you travel around, you cap them with no rep loss. This just goes on and on and you can get dozens of ships in an hour.
