Remove all orders = hold position?

Post by nubular »

when this game first launched, im pretty certain that the command "Remove all orders" used to only remove orders in queue, causing the selected ship to resort to it's selected default behavior. Yet for the past week, every single time i select "Remove all orders" for any combat ship, it automatically changes the default behavior to hold position, even in the middle of combat.

Upon highlighting my wing and removing all orders, the default behavior of the entire wing is set to Hold position, forcing me to manually reset the default behavior to Protect ship for each individual ship. Has this been happening in anyone else's game? Does anyone know of any way to avoid this?

It stops the ship doing anything, so it basically stops in place. It`s not really holding position, its just stopped.

I like it because then everything is cleared and I can re-issue fresh orders.

No, when i select remove all orders and then open the information tab of the selected ship, it changes the DEFAULT BEHAVIOR to hold position, it does not simply cancel the orders in queue.

I understand the difference between an order and a default behavior

As I understand, Default behaviors should NEVER change unless I change them manually through the info panel, or unless i select Default:Defend and add it to my wing

I have seen this too, when I removed all orders on my miners and traders their default behavior is reset to hold position as well. For traders this is extra annoying because you will have to build their huge list of wares all over again as well.

Hm... I can understand the logic behind the change, but it should really be a separate option IMO.
