Can you make missiles and drones?

Post by Velocinox »

I know you can't make other ships equipment, yet. But, I thought I saw someone post that you can make missiles and drones. Anyone remember that post, or remember what they described?

I'd like to have a base make it's own ammo and repair drones.

Good question, I havent looked. If the NPCs have ammunition factories then you can, just scan their ones, but I'll have to see if they do . that would be cool. I do miss being able , or even having to (if the equipment dock was out) going to a weapon manufacturer to buy equipment. And being able to make your own weapon and shield factories

Ammo, drones and weapons are all crafted at shipyards too.
Why it will give details to ressources needed for individual components when constructing, or upgrading ships and have no vault of pre-built. They may change that in the future, but right now, it's only ressource production, for ressource production aimed at shipyards.

You need to have a missile launcher installed to buy missiles. You can't use missiles without one. The type of missile launcher affects the type of missiles you can get.

As for drones, it varies per ship. Some ships can have drones, while others can't.

You can buy missiles and drones at any station that can build or upgrade ships. If you have a missile launcher installed, you can buy missiles. Both missiles and drones are found under consumables.

Edit: Updated prerequisites for drones.

I think you misunderstood the OP's question.

However, you can buy and load missiles on your boat, without having any launcher installed. You just can't use them for anything.
You can't buy drones without having a capable ship, though.

Thanks guys for the replies, I have been resupplying my base manually, but it has a missile component production and smart chip production and plenty of surplus, I am missing the drone and missile blueprints however and am interested in finding these if they exist. I assume that would then allow me to produce that type of item on base without having to make a ship deliver them.

If anyone has any information on getting those blueprints (I cannot find them even on a 20 point reputation representative.) it would be most helpful, thank you.
