I somehow ended up with a ton of repair drones but not enough cargo drones. I had 80 cargo, 40 defense, 20 repair. Now I have 20/40/90.
How do I get rid of drones to free up space for more cargo ones? I unselected the restock option and set target amount to 0, but nothing is happening.

Get a ship with good drone capacity then select it, right click on the station and choose "transfer wares" command. Drones can be moved there, then you can sell them to a shipyard, EQ dock, Wharf.
If I recall L traders and Carriers have good capacity. With M ships and destroyers it's like 10-20 at a time.
