Factory Setup

The factory setup seems a bit complicated..... 10 hours in and I'm not really making much money.

The basics:
  • 6 engine parts
  • 1 refined metal
  • 1 energy
  • 1 antimatter cell
Ships:
  • 2 Gas
  • 2 traders
  • 2 ore miners
Logical overview:
  • Energy = set to restrict trade
  • Ore = set to restrict trade
  • Hydrogen = set to restrict trade
  • antimater cells = restrict trade
  • refined metals = restrict trade
  • engin parts = unrestricted
i have 2.5mil in the station. I see my miners bringing in resources, i see my traders selling.... it doesn't appear to be making much money

[Update] - At first i did not have energy/ore/hydrogen restricted so i guess my station was buying them from other vendors. Should be fine now.

Leaving this up in case someone wants info on a decent factory setup. I found that my galaxy was very short on engine parts after the war was activated. This seemed like an effective use of the HQ

By the way, Egosoft should get massive credit for a greatly improved factory system..... so much more potential than x3

Just so you know, the Engine Part thing seems to be a bug. The NPCs are producing them, but they don't seem to bring them to the shipyards. When this is fixed, that market should become less profitable.

No issues to me..... about the time they fix it I'll be building a player shipyard and will need engine parts :)

One solar power makes 15000 per/h with 125% efficiency, you can start selling them right away on this stage.

Not sure how profitable engine parts production is, but this looks expensive. Best starter would be a refinery of some sorts they have cheapest parts, and silicon probably the best of the bunch because of it highest value per cargo space. One silicone wafers factory segment plus 3 or 4 miners would give you roughly 800+k per hour.

Full food production chain is ridiculously expensive in comparison.
