For XBTF are any argon factories needed to finish the game ?

And is there Navsats available in Xbtf

no the nav sats come into play in x-tension only

no there aren't any rgon stations that are needed, the only thing that must remain (not be destroyed) is argon 1, you'l find out later,
but don't go about blasting away at every argon station just because you don't need them, you'r eratings will b affected

The only ting you really have t worry about is argon1 and an asteroid in CHins clouds...without giving too much info, DON'T DO ANYTHING TO THAT ASTEROID UNTIL TOLD TO DO SO

There are no 50mw shields, but you can install 2x25mw which you can purchase from the Split. There are 125mw shields, but you cannot get these until you have completed the plot.

it's kind of pointless that they give you them after the main plot as you might very well stop playing BTF and begin X-tension or hopefullly x2

Just be warned that the "Protection" will kick in if you start Hexing saves.

There are a couple of save game editors about, but I think they are mainly fot XT.

IIRC the protection freezes your ranks, so if the Split or Paranids don't like you when you cheat you never will be liked by them.
I think it might also affect how much profit you make at a go. Possibly other things as well.
