Just like the title says, my ship will be #1 in queue, and I'll deliver the parts the wharf needs (always engine parts, obviously. also, I'm delivering 273 at a time and that's only supplying enough to build about 4 ships, which is super wrong according to the parts list when you expand the ship parts in the build screen. a nemisis vanguard only needs ~15 or so engine parts and a small ship only needs ~ 7-10, so that load of 273 should easily build close to 20 ships, not 4) then the wharf will simply skip over my ship and start building the ones in queue behind it. I've only discovered one engine part factory so far in the roughly 12 sectors I've explored and it's almost out of parts, so the game is currently unplayable, since the math on engine part construction is so woefully miscalculated, leading to a massive shortage of supply, which would all be something you could work around if the wharfs would at least build your ships that are in queue when you deliver them their needed resources, but they won't.

Re: [1.32] Wharf skips player ships in construction queue
I have tried delivering engine parts as well. I confirmed it was the only short ware. I can’t get my Pulsar back and all I wanted was a missile type change, not even working on the engines in my case. Going to try a couple more things tonight to see if I can free it.

Sounds like another variant to this one

I have full storage at the wharf and new ship is shown as #1 but the ordered still not build after hours.

Re: [1.32] Wharf skips player ships in construction queue
It's not really a variant of that post, this is a separate issue from the engine part problems. This is an issue with the construction queue not functioning for players' ships. The engine part problems are clearly an issue, and definitely not supposed to be that way based on the information we're given in-game, but it's at least work-aroundable, but this isn't. If a wharf will never move my ship up from the queue to constructing then it doesn't matter whether I deliver engine parts or not, I still can't build new ships.LennStar wrote: ↑Wed, 12. I don't have any mods installed, as an aside.

Re: [1.32] Wharf skips player ships in construction queue
Update: so I saw in a steam thread that someone was claiming that the issue isn't your ship being skipped, but rather your ship isn't actually at #1 in queue and will be slotted in when it hits its actual turn. However, after testing that for basically all of my playtime last night, dumping engine parts into the wharf, my ship was still never built after the wharf had pumped out 25+ ships (there were only 22 behind my ship when it entered queue), so this can't be the issue. Here are a few additional observations with screen shots.
Inventory of the wharf in question:
Build queue of the wharf in question:
Ok, so as you can see there are still 43 engine parts in storage yet it's not building. That must mean all those queued up perseus fighters are using at least mk2 engines. Ok, totally possible and reasonable, no big deal. However, a lot of people are suggesting that the reason things are skipping player ship in the queue is because those things cost less parts than the player ship. This disproves that, as a couple (I think 2) of those fighters leapfrogged me in the queue, and those gorgons did, too. My nemesis was only ordered with mk1 engines, so if the wharf prioritizes low-part builds, it should've gone in before those fighters or those gorgons. Therefore, that concept is debunked.
This means there are only two possible outcomes: either A) the queue is just broken and skipping player ships occasionally (but not always, since not all players are having this bug) or B) the wharf has been programmed to intentionally skip non-faction ships during war. However, since not all players are experiencing this issue, it can't be the latter, because if it was intentionally programmed into wharf's build priorities, everyone would be experiencing this. Therefore the only reasonable conclusion is that there's a chance of construction queue bugging out, causing player ships to always be skipped over, which breaks the game, at least according to the information that I have access to as a player.
As an aside, that wharf was also saying that it's out of hull parts at the time of that screenshot, and that it needs about 2k, which as you can see from the pic is obviously false (it has almost 13k already), don't imagine that's related, but thought it was worth noting.
I realized this morning that the save file I linked yesterday isn't a good one to use to look into this. Here's a much better one.

Re: [1.32] Wharf skips player ships in construction queue
From what I noticed from this issue and the ships in the build order in the Wharf, I believe the the construction queue is not ordered by order of requests but actually by least materials needed, so if you ship is more expensive (needs more materials) then the other ships they get built first this leads to you ship never being built unless the market is saturated of the wares the Wharf needs.
I may... I probably am wrong but it was the idea i got from looking at the wharf construction queue overtime it got wares.

Re: [1.32] Wharf skips player ships in construction queue
From my experience you are indeed, mistaken. I've currently got three ships stuck in the build queue, one of which is buying satellites, another buying 3 marines, and the last one selling off it's guns (in preparation for selling the ship itself after) yet all of them are stuck behind the A.I ship orders of a half dozen or more ships despite them needing none of the engine parts the A.I's orders require.
It's incredibly frustrating to wind up having to build 1/2 the A.I's armada by hand delivering missing supplies in order to get to the front of the queue. Ideally the player should auto bump to the front of the queue (it's a single player game, what's the upside to making us sit around stuck behind A.I orders?) Or just give us an option to pay a "rush service fee" of 10k or whatever to skip to the front of the queue if we so desire?
