So the economy in my game has hit a wall, no one is buying ships or any of the final products in the construction line, as such everything’s full so no ones transporting or buying (except food and energy) and so no ones building many stations or ships because there’s no demand for them. The “invasions the xenon launch don’t go beyond the initial jump gate so occasionally there’s a bump of ships being built but then it returns to nothing.
The idea I thought of to “fix” this is if a final product station (say shipyards and wharfs) have no orders placed in 20-40 mins half there inventory is self deleted. That way the flow would be semi more continuous. (What do you guys think?)
As for the rumor I’ve heard a couple of people on YouTube (I know not very reliable) say that there’s a new update coming out so you best start a new game, is that correct? We have to start again with each update? (If so I should just stop playing for a couple of years instead of wasting multiple multiple hours building my Company/soon to be empire)
Economy hits a wall? (And can some confirm/deny a rumour?)

I can't guarantee anything, but i never had to restart an Egosoft game because of patches/bugs/etc. That's the beauty of Egosoft, the game may be buggy at the beginning, but all patches an new features are always also applied to the savegames.
I played many hours withe release versions of X2/X3 and X3TC and there where several bugs in the beginning, some of them even killed half the universe.
One thing to keep in mind is, after patching it will take the engine some time to get back to normal. But eventually it will.
Yesterday i started 1.32, i was very happy when i saw 2 M's and an P in "Matrix 451". Just wanted to do a little fighting. At the end my whole fleet was in Sector, and we killed 5 Xenon-K's and 1 Xenon-I.
And i still play with my 1.0 Savegame.
Haven't looked at the economy closely, but my Miners always find some place to sell. And my Sector Traders keep upping my Rep. So i think everything works as normal.
Long Story short, just give 1.32 a little time, don't restart. The Wars are there, then the economy has to follow... And if it doesn't there will always be a next patch

The economy should theoretically get back on track now with 1.3.2, as now ships are actually being build. There was an error with weapon loadout.
However there seems to be an inventory bug - shipyards are now full of 4 parts and dont have space left for parts #5 and such can't build ships.
Also you may see a lot of ships without weapons until they are destroyed, that I think that are the ships that have been already ordered and now produced after the weapon fixing patch and that batch must run out sooner or later.
So... if you want a smooth gameplay, wait until next year. Every X game is buggy as hell in the first weeks
