Ressources for Modifications?

Hi. I unlocked the modifications for Weapons, shields...

How do I get the fitting ressources? I have some of them so I think I can collect them from containers, destroyed enemy ships and so on. But is this pure RNG or can I farm for a special one? Is there in information where to find them?

In Eleite Dangerous there is a way to farm each single ressource through different ways. Is there something similar in X4?

The stronger the enemy, the better the loot. Unless you invade a Xeno sector, park yourself in front of one of their bases where their drones spawn, put something heavy on your fire key and come back an hour later to pick up the stuff . At least that's how it used to work, not sure if it's viable in 1.32, heaven't tried it and probably won't .
